Job Summary: We are seeking an Automation and Control Engineer with experience in PLCs, HMIs, and developing innovative solutions for environmental monitoring and process control in industrial environments and Smart Cities. ENVIRA (www.envira.es) is a company with over 30 years of experience, specializing in developing solutions for monitoring environmental parameters and structural health in industrial, urban, and agricultural environments, as well as processing the data generated. Today, ENVIRA implements comprehensive automatic systems for measuring environmental quality and pollutant emissions, and also designs and develops devices for IoT networks and software platforms at the technological forefront—performing precise measurements and analyzing multiple parameters in Industry 4.0, Smart Cities, and precision agriculture environments. What Are We Looking For? ENVIRA is developing the next generation of data acquisition and atmospheric monitoring systems using cutting-edge technologies in process control, gas analysis, and communications. To achieve this, we aim to build an innovative, enthusiastic, and motivated team capable of combining the latest trends in controller \#PLC programming, signal processing, \#BigData, and \#cybersecurity to create the platform representing ENVIRA’s new technological excellence standard. We seek a person passionate about challenges, with experience in PLC and HMI programming, exposure to C\+\+, C\#, database handling, and unafraid to explore new control solutions. **Key Responsibilities:** * Technical organization, management, and execution of automation projects related to environmental and process parameter monitoring and control. * Design, programming, and commissioning of PLC controllers from leading market brands under IEC 61131 standards and internal regulations. * Integration of typical Industry 4.0 and Big Data elements into the control platform through driver and associated software development. * Integration of PLC platforms into IT, IIoT, and OT systems. * Active participation in project commissioning and maintenance activities, either on-site or supporting field-deployed personnel. * Customer support throughout all phases of the developed project. * Technological and market surveillance. **Required Qualifications:** * Technical Industrial Engineering degree, specialization in Electronics and Automatic Control; or Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering; or Senior Industrial Engineering degree, specialization in Electronics and Automatic Control / Master’s in Electronics and Automatic Control. Higher vocational training cycles related to Electronics and Automatic Control will also be considered. * Proficiency with Phoenix Contact and Siemens PLCs (other brands considered advantageous). * User-level knowledge of electrical design software. * English: B2 level or equivalent. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in advanced development of control and data acquisition systems using PLC platforms. Specific Software Requirements * Proficiency in IEC 61131\-3 \- Structured Text (ST). * SCADA and HMI development. * Proficiency in industrial communication protocols: * \* Serial: RS-232 & RS-485. * Modbus RTU & TCP. * Ethernet/IP. * Familiarity with TCP/IP, OPC UA, MQTT, and HTTP REST communication standards. * Data transmission in network architectures. * Experience in automation architecture design. * Knowledge of IEC 62443\. * Fluency in Linux environments. * Proficiency in container technology. * Ability to configure networks, routers, firewalls, and VPNs. * JavaScript knowledge. * SQL database operations proficiency. * Scripting knowledge. Specific Hardware Requirements * Field signal acquisition, processing, and control. * Knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, and actuators. * Integration of PLCs into other architectures. * Development of control automation systems. * Experience in commissioning industrial installations. * Execution of FAT and SAT tests. * Process improvement in industrial environments. * Generation of technical documentation (drawings, functional reports, operation manuals). * Maintenance management, technical support, and incident resolution for existing control systems. **Additional Valuable Qualifications:** * Highly valuable experience in air quality networks (emission and immission) and/or meteorological stations. * Knowledge/work under ISO/IEC 17025 Management Systems. * Knowledge of legal regulations and international standards regarding air quality, emissions, and low-voltage electrical installations. * Proficiency in project management tools
