




One of our clients, a multinational in the retail sector, is looking for a **Cloud Engineer - DevOps** to join their technology team. **Location: San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid)** **3 years of experience in a similar role** You will be responsible for **designing, automating and maintaining the technological infrastructure** that supports our client's systems and applications. Your mission will be to ensure development teams can deploy software in an agile, secure and stable manner, driving best practices in automation, observability and cloud. We are looking for someone with a **solid technical foundation in cloud environments, automation and deployment of modern infrastructures**. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on experience with cloud technologies, containers and automation tools, along with a mindset focused on continuous improvement, quality and system reliability. ### **What will you do?** Design, deploy and maintain infrastructure on **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** using Infrastructure as Code (**Terraform**) practices. Manage and operate **Kubernetes clusters (GKE)**, handling deployments, services, ingress, security policies and scaling. Create and maintain **CI/CD** pipelines using **GitHub Actions** or **GitLab CI**, and implement **GitOps** workflows via **ArgoCD** or **Flux**. Manage containers and build secure images with **Docker**, following security and automation best practices. Automate operational tasks and internal processes using **Python** and other DevOps ecosystem tools. Manage configurations and templates within the Kubernetes ecosystem using **Helm** and **Kustomize**. Administer relational databases (**PostgreSQL**) and non-relational databases (**Redis**, document-based, etc.). Integrate and operate messaging and streaming systems such as **Kafka**, **Pub/Sub**, or similar technologies. Implement and maintain system **observability** using tools like **Prometheus**, **Grafana**, **Datadog**, or other solutions. Manage networking and security in cloud environments: **TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VPCs, API Gateways, Ingress Controllers**, as well as identity and **IAM** management. Manage secrets and security policies across containers, images and cloud resources. ### **What technical skills do you need?** * Proficiency in **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**. * Advanced use of **Docker** and **Kubernetes** for application deployment and orchestration. * Experience with **Terraform** for infrastructure management and automation. * Solid knowledge of **Python** for scripting, automation and operational tasks. Certifications (highly valued) * Google Cloud: **Professional Cloud Architect** or others * Kubernetes: **CKA**, **CKAD**, **CKS** * Terraform: **Terraform Associate** **Key Skills** * Experience with **GitHub Actions** or **GitLab CI**, and GitOps tools such as **ArgoCD** or **Flux**. * Proficiency with **Helm**, **Kustomize**, and other common tools in the cloud-native stack. * Relational Databases: **PostgreSQL** (including SQL proficiency). * NoSQL Databases: **Redis**, document databases and similar. * Experience with **Kafka**, **Pub/Sub**, or other streaming platforms. * Use of **Datadog**, **Prometheus**, **Grafana**, or other observability solutions. * Solid understanding of **TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, VPCs, API Gateways and Ingress Controllers**. * Container security best practices. * **Identity management (IAM)**. * **Secrets management** using specific cloud/Kubernetes environment tools. **Nice-to-have Skills** Experience with other cloud providers such as **AWS**. Knowledge of **Java**, **Go** or **Node.js**. Development of **Kubernetes operators**. Use of **Service Mesh** (Istio, Linkerd). Familiarity with **OpenTelemetry** for distributed tracing. Experience in **FinOps** for cloud cost optimization. Knowledge of **Big Data**, **Machine Learning**, **ML Ops** and AI model deployment. **Personal Competencies** Analytical ability to understand and solve complex infrastructure problems.
