Job Description:
**MISSION**:
Define, evolve, and govern AXA Spain's enterprise architecture, ensuring its alignment with the company's strategy and translating it into actionable plans and concrete roadmaps that enable business transformation. To this end, the role must establish and maintain architecture standards, lead process reengineering initiatives, evaluate and guide key technology decisions, manage the application portfolio and architecture inventory, and ensure consistency of solutions designed by various teams—acting as the architectural reference point and bridge between business, IT, and AXA Group. **RESPONSIBILITIES**:* Define and maintain AXA Spain’s target architecture –
Define, evolve, and maintain AXA Spain’s target architecture, comprehensively covering the domains of business, application, data, and technology architecture. Ensure this architecture is clearly documented, shared and understood across relevant areas, and serves as a reference framework for decision-making and solution design across the organization.
* Align architecture and strategy, translating vision into execution \-
Ensure continuous alignment between the target architecture and the company’s strategy, converting strategic guidelines into clear roadmaps for business, transformation, and technology initiatives. Ensure proper transfer and handover of these roadmaps to project and execution teams so that architecture materializes into concrete, prioritized, and deliverable plans.
* Define and consolidate architecture standards \-
Lead the definition, review, and updating of AXA Spain’s Architecture Standards Framework, including Architecture Principles, Patterns, Blueprints, Reference Architectures, and Tech Standards. Ensure alignment with AXA Group guidelines, effective dissemination to technical and business teams, and practical application in projects—promoting reuse, consistency, and reduction of complexity and technical debt.
* Lead process reengineering and transformation activities \-
Drive and lead business process reengineering initiatives, adopting a transformational approach. Conduct current-state (as\-is) analysis, identify inefficiencies, redundancies, costs, and bottlenecks, and design target-state (to\-be) processes that optimize the end-to-end value chain. Ensure process improvements are integrated with enterprise architecture and supported by necessary technological capabilities to capture expected benefits.
* Technologically assess new applications and solutions \-
Analyze and assess the technological feasibility of new applications, components, and solutions—identifying risks, dependencies, impacts on the current ecosystem, and possible alternatives. Issue well-founded recommendations and support technology investment decisions, ensuring coherence with the target architecture, defined standards, and constraints related to security, compliance, and performance.
* Govern the Application Portfolio (APM) and architecture inventory –
Participate in the effective governance of the Application Portfolio Management (APM) process, maintaining a complete, up-to-date, and reliable inventory of applications and architecture assets. Evaluate application lifecycles (adoption, maintenance, evolution, retirement), identify redundancies and obsolete applications, and propose rationalization, consolidation, and modernization plans aligned with company strategy.
* Participate in and exert influence within the Design Authority \-
Actively participate in Design Authority processes and forums, reviewing and validating proposals for relevant solution designs. Ensure design decisions comply with the target architecture, AXA Spain and AXA Group standards, and consider cross-cutting impacts on business, data, security, and technology. Issue criteria and recommendations to steer projects toward sustainable and scalable solutions. **PROFILE**:* Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent
* Enterprise Architecture (minimum 5 years’ experience) \-
Demonstrable experience defining and evolving enterprise architectures in medium-to-large organizations, covering business, data, application, and technology domains. Ability to develop target architecture models, roadmaps, and transformation plans, as well as govern their implementation. Familiarity with reference frameworks (e.g., TOGAF or others) and Enterprise Architecture practices in complex environments.
* Solution Architecture (minimum 5 years’ experience) \-
Solid experience designing end-to-end solutions integrating multiple systems and applications, both on-premise and cloud-based. Ability to translate business requirements into viable, scalable, and secure solution architectures aligned with the target architecture and corporate standards. Regular participation in design forums (Design Authority), defending and justifying architectural decisions.
* Functional knowledge of the insurance sector (minimum 4 years’ experience) \-
In-depth understanding of core insurance business processes (underwriting, pricing, policy issuance, claims, collections/payments, renewals, etc.), with an end-to-end view of the value chain. Experience working with insurance business areas (Non-Life, Life, Health, etc.), understanding their needs and constraints, and translating them into business and IT capabilities and solutions.
* Experience in business transformation and process reengineering initiatives \-
Active participation in business and/or digital transformation programs—including process reengineering (as\-is / to\-be), value chain optimization, and operational model redefinition. Ability to identify inefficiencies and propose integrated process and technology solutions focused on outcomes (cost reduction, cycle time improvement, enhanced customer experience, etc.).
* Artificial Intelligence and agent-based architectures \-
Practical experience applying Artificial Intelligence solutions in enterprise environments, along with knowledge of architectures and their integration into corporate system ecosystems. Ability to identify use cases, assess technical feasibility, and align them with the target architecture and business needs.
* Application Portfolio Management (APM) governance \-
Experience managing and rationalizing application portfolios in complex environments: asset inventory, lifecycle assessment, redundancy and obsolescence analysis, and definition of consolidation and modernization plans. Familiarity with APM tools or practices and with building/maintaining architecture repositories.
* Typical technology environments in large enterprises \-
Experience working with hybrid architectures (on\-premise / cloud), with particular emphasis on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OpenShift, or others), API- and microservices-based architectures, system integration, and batch processing. Knowledge of integration models (synchronous/asynchronous), messaging, and data management.
* Working with multidisciplinary stakeholders and change management \-
Proven experience collaborating with multiple areas (business, IT, security, risk, compliance, etc.), facilitating consensus and managing expectations. Ability to communicate complex architectural concepts in accessible language—both to technical and non-technical audiences—and to support organizational change associated with architectural decisions. * Key Competencies:
* Leadership and team management.
* Results orientation and problem solving.
* Strategic planning capability.
* Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Proactivity and innovation.
* Desirable
* Experience using EA tools for modeling, application inventory management, APM, and roadmap definition (e.g., SAP LeanIX).
* Participation in legacy modernization and rationalization initiatives (rehosting, refactoring, replacement), preferably in large-scale environments.
* Experience in mainframe platform transformation programs toward modern architectures (cloud, microservices, APIs), including integration and migration risk management.
* Knowledge of data architectures (data lake, data warehouse, MDM) and how to integrate them into enterprise architecture.
* Familiarity with security-by-design principles, technology risk management, and regulatory requirements applicable to the insurance sector (e.g., DORA).
