* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration. * Solid knowledge of the Spanish General Accounting Plan (PGC) and experience in financial analysis. * Tax training will be valued. **Requirements:** * C1 level in English. * Excellent financial and quantitative skills. * Audit experience will be valued, preferably in Big Four firms, as well as experience in accounting, taxation, treasury or administration tasks. * Experience in interdepartmental coordination and communication with personnel from subsidiaries. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. * Attention to detail, organizational ability, technical rigor, team work planning, proactivity and problem-solving skills. * Proactive attitude and focus on achieving established goals. * Willingness to travel. * A demanding yet flexible and innovative professional who engages in new projects and seeks professional development within the company. **Main responsibilities:** * General financial accounting: + Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting closings. + Update accounting records in ERP (X3\). + Analysis, control and review of accounting accounts for companies managed by the Administration department. + Liaise with auditors, consultants and other corporate departments, providing necessary information and analysis, addressing business requirements. + Preparation of Annual Accounts and support during audit process. + Maintain accounting control over fixed assets. * Financial closing and reporting: + Collaborate with the team on accounting and administrative processes for operations of managed companies. + Financial statements analysis during monthly accounting closings. + Optimization and control of the team’s accounting processes. * Taxation: + Coordinate with external tax advisors for preparation of monthly and annual tax filings. + Corporate income tax, provision calculation and advance payments. + Accounting recording and reconciliation of tax filings. * Support to the corporate Treasury department. The main tasks of this position include: * Producing sound, empirically\-based, quantitative analysis to support ex\-ante impact assessments for policy initiatives of DG CLIMA and DG REGIO in the context of the EU domestic and international climate agenda; * Participating to both area\-specific (e.g. tourism, labour productivity, floods, wildfires) and multi\-hazard climate change impact integrated economic studies; * Contribute to the development, calibration and validation of modelling tools for assessing the socio\-economic impacts of climate change, with a specific focus on long\-term economic consequences, regional effects, distributional implications, agents’ heterogeneity and market adjustment dynamics; * Developing economic models and tools with a robust empirical basis to assess climate\-change\-induced extreme events and their socio\-economic impacts and in view of the design of efficient adaptation strategies; * Contributing to JRC publications, such as science for policy reports and policy briefs, along with internal and external communication on these; * Collaborating with other teams on various policy\-relevant scientific topics, in the unit, with other JRC and EC units, or with external contractors (for instance climate change impact assessment, linking specialized models); * Participating actively to the international climate impacts research fora: contribution to research projects, evaluation of research results, drafting of scientific publications Required qualifications: * Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years professional experience after university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma, or a PhD; * Candidates should have experience and demonstrated training in the methods of applied economics, econometrics, economic growth and development, preferably in the context of climate change. Familiarity with the application of spatial econometric techniques and spatial economic models and data analysis will be highly valued; * Candidates should have ease in manipulating quantitative information and datasets. Knowledge of programming software and languages (such as R, Python, Matlab or Stata) is an important asset and will be highly valued. * The successful applicant is expected to have an excellent record of research activities including publications in international peer\-reviewed journals. * The candidate must be on a valid EPSO reserve list for Function Group IV contract staff.
