The Maintenance Engineer – Spare Parts, as a primary function, will be responsible for end-to-end management of the spare parts warehouse, ensuring spare parts and critical materials are continuously available, controlled, and optimized to support plant operational performance. This role establishes and leads warehouse processes, ensures data accuracy, manages inventory value and levels, drives continuous improvement, and fosters a culture focused on safety, 5S, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Inventory Value and Quantity Management:
* Manage MRO inventory strategy to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce inventory capital.
* Monitor inventory turnover, reduce low-turnover items, and prevent overstock or stockouts.
* Implement effective planning, replenishment, and min/max level strategies.
* Review and approve critical spares and inventory additions/deletions.
* Master Data Management for Materials:
* Ensure accuracy and governance of material master data, including descriptions, units of measure, criticality codes, part classifications, and supplier information.
* Maintain alignment with corporate standards and collaborate with Procurement and Maintenance for data cleansing and enrichment.
* Ensure correct cataloging and avoid duplicates.
* Cycle Counting and Inventory Accuracy:
* Lead and execute the cycle counting program to achieve and sustain high inventory accuracy (>95%).
* Investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
* Coordinate with Finance for annual physical inventory and compliance requirements.
* Warehouse Organization, Space, and 5S Management:
* Be responsible for physical layout, storage systems, and space utilization within the warehouse.
* Ensure clear labeling, proper item location, visual controls, and standardized storage methods.
* Implement and maintain 5S practices across all warehouse areas.
* Optimize space to ensure safety, efficiency, and accommodate future inventory growth.
* **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Reporting:**
+ Establish and track KPIs such as: inventory accuracy, MRO inventory value and turnover, stockouts and service level, cycle count compliance, purchase order lead time, critical spares availability, 5S audit scores, etc.
+ Provide periodic reports.
* **Processes, Systems, and Continuous Improvement:**
+ Develop, document, and standardize all warehouse processes (receiving, kitting, issuing, returns, VMI, obsolescence, etc.).
+ Ensure full utilization of CMMS and ERP systems for all transactions and data management.
+ Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce costs, improve availability, and increase warehouse efficiency.
+ Identify opportunities for automation or digitalization (barcodes, RFID, IoT, vending solutions, etc.).
Requirements
* Engineering degree (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
* 1–2 years of experience in similar roles.
* English – Conversational.
* Proficiency in CMMS, ERP, SAP systems; knowledge of warehouse operations.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is desirable.
Salary Range for this Position: EUR 29,000 – 36,000
