Mechanical/Civil Layout Designer - Diseñador/Proyectista Mecánico

As a Mechanical/Civil Layout Designer, you will report to the Supervisor Engineer for Large Modules & Site Physical Design, and be located at C.N. Ascó in Tarragona, with a hybrid work schedule (remote and on-site). This is a full-time position. **Responsibilities:** ---------------------- * Work closely with engineering personnel and follow their instructions to apply engineering concepts of mechanical, support, civil, and/or structural design into consistent deliverables comprising construction detail drawings and graphics * Develop moderately complex designs and digital models, incorporating modifications or new designs into manufacturing, installation, and/or construction engineering drawings * Prepare designs, digital models, and drawings for complete items considering clearances for structures, piping, and/or critical mechanical installations * Coordinate drafting activities, track progress, provide technical guidance and feedback to achieve accurate results * Assist in analyzing engineering drawings and models for product manufacturability and constructability, including verifying: ease of interpretation, proper illustration, necessary data, correct and required dimensioning, appropriate tolerances aligned with manufacturing costs and feasibility, suitable surface finish and welding symbols, material specifications and related note data, proper material application and sizes, and related drawing format requirements such as bill of materials, document approval and release according to specific project or department procedures * Calculate dimensions, tolerances, fits, slopes, weights, curvatures, etc., using engineering information and formulas * Interpret specifications, references, etc., applying established drafting principles * Frequently take on-site measurements and data, perform inspections, and support installation within a nuclear facility **Requirements:** --------------- * Engineering degree related to the technical discipline, or Technician or Vocational Training qualification related to the technical discipline, or equivalent with 10+ years of experience in industrial/nuclear projects * Software: MICROSTATION (preferably Connect version and experience with 3D tools), AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, TEKLA Structures, PDS, SmartPlant3D * Must be qualified to work in radiological areas and hold a radiological pass; occasionally may work in confined spaces wearing a respirator mask * Proficient in written and spoken Spanish and English - **Welcome to the future of nuclear energy**, where Westinghouse Electric Company is leading the field with expertise and innovation to shape the power of tomorrow. This is a full-time role. **Key Responsibilities:** ------------------------- * Work with and receive directions from Engineering personnel toward applying engineering concepts of Mechanical, Supports, Civil and Structural designs into practicable functional graphics and drafting deliverables * Develop moderately complex layouts and digital models incorporating modified concepts in manufacturing, installation and construction engineering drawings * Prepare layouts, digital models and drawings for complete items characterized by critical structural, piping and mechanical clearances- Specifications can be from sketch or may be statement of end results * Coordinate drafting activities, follow the progress, provide technical guidance and comments to obtain accurate outputs * Help analyze engineering drawings and models for product manufacturability and constructability, including checking for: ease of interpretation, proper illustration, necessary data, correct and needed dimensioning, proper tolerances congruent with manufacturing costs and feasibility, proper surface finish and weld symbols, proper material specifications and related note data, proper material application and sizes and related drawing format requirements such as bill of materials, proper sign-off and release of documents per project specific and department procedures * Calculate dimensions, tolerances, fits, slopes, weights, and bends using experimental engineering information and formula * Interpret specifications and references in use of established drawing principles * Take on-site measurement and data, assistance to walk-downs, and support installation within a nuclear facility **Qualifications:** ------------------- * Degree in Engineering or Technician or Vocational qualification certificate (FP) and 10+ years of experience in industrial and/ or nuclear projects * Software skills: MICROSTATION (preferably Connect version and experience with 3D tool), AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, TEKLA Structures, PDS, SmartPlant3D * Fluent in English and Spanish * Ability to work within radiological areas, have radiological monitoring document, and occasionally work within confined spaces, wearing respirator mask #LI-Hybrid **Why Westinghouse?** --------------------- We know that to put forth your best effort, you need to be challenged and enjoy what you do in a supportive and respectful environment.
