Job Summary
The Finance Lead Expert is responsible for managing complex financial projects and providing expert advice on financial planning, reporting, and compliance. This role supports strategic decision\-making and ensures financial integrity across the business unit.
This job profile is intended for recognized subject matter experts in a job area. Required to manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager. Coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionals.
We are looking for a highly experienced Divisional FP\&A Controller to lead performance controlling activities across our global Services Division. In this role, you will drive budgeting, forecasting, monthly closing processes, and operational excellence initiatives, while acting as a key financial partner to senior leadership. You will ensure high\-quality reporting, develop best‑in‑class controlling processes, and support global stakeholders on financial governance, working capital, and continuous improvement topics.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Support the Division Global Finance Business Partner in setting KPIs, targets, and distributing them across Regions and BU/PLs.
* Drive Net Working Capital improvement measures and ensure corresponding monitoring.
* Ensure timely, accurate, and qualitative reporting of monthly closing figures.
* Lead and develop a central controlling team, fostering best‑in‑class capabilities.
* Train and support global legal entities on Net Working Capital, Cash Collection, and Cash Forecasting topics.
* Provide financial and controlling governance for planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across Regions and BU/PLs.
* Serve as the main interface to the Group Controller on related matters.
* Act as gatekeeper—together with the team—for BUD, RFC, and monthly closing processes.
* Identify and define improvement potentials for all subject KPIs.
* Support preparation of monthly reporting packages, including senior management presentations.
* Represent the Division in Controlling and Operational Excellence topics.
* Recommend and implement measures to drive efficiency in controlling and improvement processes.
* Support function leaders (Business Development, Operations, etc.) with financial modeling and decision support.
* Contribute to ERP/Consolidation system implementations and enhancements.
* Perform ad‑hoc analysis related to finance and operational excellence topics.
* Operate within the defined decision‑making framework according to Sulzer’s delegation of authority.
**You Need to Succeed**
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
* 10–15 years of experience in Finance \& Controlling within a global manufacturing environment.
* Strong background in project/change management, consolidation, and financial reporting.
* Excellent analytical, communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
* Ability to lead teams, manage multiple initiatives, and drive operational excellence.
* Solid understanding of internal financial reporting, accounting principles, and financial decision‑making.
* Proactive, self‑driven mindset with high integrity.
* Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint) and strong ERP knowledge (ideally SAP or MS Dynamics).
* Fluent English.
