Benefit from cutting-edge facilities and stimulating environment Phortify \- **Photonics Education Network for Next\-Gen Innovation and Digital Skills Excellence for Industry and Society** is a European initiative dedicated to strengthening photonics education across Europe. Phortify brings together Europe’s leading photonics institutions in a unique education and training network that provides harmonised quality assurance and certification, while enabling flexible and mobile learning pathways for both students and industry professionals. Through targeted support measures, Phortify promotes inclusion, mobility, and excellence in photonics education and training. As part of this initiative, **three fellowships** are available **to support outstanding Phortify students in undertaking a research stay (internship or Master’s thesis project)** at **ICFO.** Internship opportunities are available across several of ICFO Research Groups. Candidates should have a **high working knowledge of English.** Selection of Fellows is based on merit and potential, measured in terms of academic records and personal achievements. The stay will have to be **formalized by a training agreement** between the student’s home university/institution and ICFO. Please note that any potential offer for a fellowship at ICFO is subject to the previous verification of viability of said training agreement. The fellowships offer a monthly gross stipend of **600€ per month gross.** **1st step: Submit your application** Applicants must submit the following documentation (in English) through My Phortify portal: * Latest official academic BSc and MSc (if applicable) transcripts; * A Phortify\-specific motivation letter, describing the applicant’s motivation for applying for Phortify funding and their alignment with the objectives of the Phortify project, and the ICFO research group of interest; * A curriculum vitae (CV). **2nd step: Review process** In a first revision stage, applications will first be reviewed to assure that they meet the eligibility requirements and conditions and candidates will be notified accordingly. Eligible applications will be evaluated and ranked by a Selection Committee appointed by ICFO’s Academic Affairs unit. Top\-ranked candidates will then pass to a matching stage, in which he/she will be invited to discuss their research interests and suitability for the project with the relevant ICFO Group Leader(s), as well as duration of the stay and other particular conditions. An interview, either in person or online, is a fundamental part of the procedure. If the candidate and ICFO Group Leader(s) agree to a match to undertake a project, the candidate will receive an official fellowship offer from ICFO. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, and fellowships allocated to outstanding candidates.
