**JOB SUMMARY**
This position leads and implements property\/hotel-level strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the brand's target customer and on-property employee needs and expectations. It also provides the necessary financial expertise to successfully implement the brand's service strategy and initiatives while maximizing return on investment.
**CANDIDATE PROFILE**
**Education and Experience**
* Four-year university degree in Finance and Accounting or a related field.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Support Strategic Planning and Decision-Making**
* Analyze financial data and market trends.
* Collaborate on information analysis, sales versus expense forecasting, and annual budget planning.
* Collect, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projected sales.
* Collaborate on developing methods to improve profitability, including cost\/benefit estimation, exploring new business opportunities, etc.
* Analyze variances between actual and budgeted payroll costs for more efficient budget planning.
* Think creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new business plans.
* Protect and strengthen the company's competitive advantage by promoting and supporting sound business and financial decision-making.
* Implement an appropriate system of controls to manage business risks.
**Lead Accounting Teams**
* Use interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and motivate others; promote sound financial and business decision-making; demonstrate honesty and integrity; and lead by example.
* Clearly and accurately communicate owners' objectives and priorities to subordinates.
* Provide outstanding leadership by assigning clear responsibilities to team members and heads of other departments, backed by appropriate authority.
* Hold staff accountable for successful achievement of results and expected performance.
**Develop and Maintain Financial and Accounting Objectives**
* Support the property's strategy from a financial and accounting perspective.
* Deliver reports timely, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
* Ensure profit and loss accounts are accurately documented.
* Achieve and exceed performance-, budget-, and team-related objectives.
* Ensure timely corrections stemming from audit findings when necessary.
* Review audit issues to ensure accuracy.
**Manage Projects and Policies**
* Oversee all applicable taxes, ensuring they are up-to-date, collected and\/or properly accounted for.
* Generate and deliver accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
* Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Local Standard Operating Procedures (LSOPs).
* Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
* Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Ensure Profit and Loss (P\&L) accuracy (e.g., costs correctly associated with revenues and recorded in appropriate accounts).
**Anticipate and Respond to Key Stakeholder Needs**
* Understand and satisfy key stakeholders' needs (owners, corporation, guests, etc.).
* Understand owners' perspectives and their expectations regarding return on investment (ROI).
* Anticipate and address owners' needs by involving them in key decisions.
* Leverage strong functional leadership and communication capabilities to influence the Executive Committee, property strategies, and lead one's own team.
* Advise the General Manager (GM) and Executive Committee on current and emerging operational and financial matters.
* Facilitate review meetings to analyze information with the leadership team.
* Attend meetings with owners to provide context and explanation of financial results.
* Participate in meetings and communicate with owners, understanding their priorities and strategic focus.
* Demonstrate commitment to meeting the needs of all key stakeholders.
* Communicate financial concepts clearly, persuasively, accessibly, and in ways that drive desired behaviors.
**Manage and Develop Human Resources**
* Ensure team members receive cross-training to support daily operational success.
* Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.

* Ensure new employees receive appropriate training to perform their jobs successfully.
* Create appropriate development plans for team members based on individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations, and capabilities.
