Description

This position focuses on sorting operations within an industrial plant specialized in processing recyclable materials. The operator's primary responsibilities include performing manual separation tasks and precise classification of various types of materials flowing along the conveyor belt. Materials to be identified and separated include plastics such as colored PET, HDPE (high-density polyethylene), plastic film, among others, ensuring efficient segregation for subsequent treatment and recycling. Additionally, the role involves correctly identifying and removing contaminants—i.e., unwanted or hazardous materials that may compromise the quality of the recycling stream. This work is essential to maintaining process efficiency and the quality of the resulting material. In addition to sorting tasks, the operator also performs basic maintenance duties in the work area, focusing on general order and cleanliness throughout the plant. This includes organizing the workspace, cleaning equipment and conveyor belts, as well as safely disposing of accumulated waste. The objective is to ensure a safe, orderly, and hygienic industrial environment, contributing to accident prevention and proper facility operation. The position requires constant attention to detail, the ability to follow established procedures, and a strong commitment to safety in the production environment. The role operates under a rotating American-style shift system, which organizes the work schedule into specific cycles. This system entails rotation across morning, afternoon, and night shifts, following a defined work-and-rest pattern. The operator must adapt to this rotating schedule, which includes working on weekends and public holidays as part of the plant’s continuous operation. The ability to maintain concentration and precision in assigned tasks regardless of shift is essential for success in this position. Emphasis is placed on methodical execution of sorting and maintenance tasks, supporting the facility’s daily operations. The work schedule follows a rotating American-style shift covering 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The work cycle consists of 2 days on the morning shift, followed by 2 days on the afternoon shift and 2 days on the night shift, concluding with a consecutive 4-day rest period. This schedule includes working on weekends and public holidays. Compensation includes a base hourly rate and an additional premium applicable for night-shift work. No minimum level of formal education or specific academic qualification is required for this position. Prior knowledge or experience as a sorting operator in industrial or waste management environments is valued. Candidates must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks continuously, possess strong attention to detail, and demonstrate aptitude for following safety instructions and procedures established at the plant.
