Platform Engineer

Description

We are looking for a person passionate about technology, cloud architectures, and data platforms, capable of transforming use cases into productive, scalable, and secure solutions. You will join an innovative and multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with business, IT, and vendor teams to consolidate strategic capabilities within CAF and reduce dependence on external resources. **Key Responsibilities** * Industrialize data, AI, and agent solutions using DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps best practices—including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and deployment automation. * Manage technical integration of services into the RoS business domain: Databricks Unity Catalog, AWS, Git repositories, APIs, databases, identity services, SSO, permissions, and security components. * Support business and vendor teams in productionizing use cases, ensuring common standards, component reuse, and alignment with architecture. * Provide expert support for critical platform incidents, cost optimization, performance, availability, monitoring, and environment management. * Document architectural patterns, deployment guidelines, best practices, and operational mechanisms to reduce dependency on specific individuals and accelerate onboarding of new developments. * Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and governed cloud and on\-premise architectures for CAF’s Data \& AI Platform. **Minimum Requirements:** * **Academic Qualification:** Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent technical field. A master’s degree or specialization in cloud computing, data architecture, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or software engineering is highly desirable. * **Professional Experience:** Minimum recommended experience of 3–5 years in designing, deploying, or operating cloud platforms, IoT networks, data platforms, AI/ML solutions, or mission-critical enterprise applications. Prior experience as a Platform Engineer, Solutions Architect, Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Data/MLOps Engineer, or equivalent role in environments such as AWS, Azure, Databricks, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines is valued. Experience in networking and knowledge of connectivity standards is also advantageous. * **Required Languages:** Fluent Spanish and advanced English. Basque language proficiency is considered a plus. * **General Competencies:** Technical autonomy, structured thinking, product- and service-oriented mindset, ability to prioritize, clear communication with both technical and business stakeholders, cross-functional collaboration, documentation rigor, continuous improvement orientation, and ability to work effectively in technologically uncertain environments. * **Technical Competencies:** AWS, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Networking, Python, SQL, APIs, Docker, Terraform, Git, CI/CD, monitoring and observability, IAM/SSO, cloud networking, security, automation, web application and backend service deployment, database integration, cloud cost assessment, DevOps/DataOps/MLOps best practices, and knowledge of architectures for agents and generative AI solutions. * **Other:** Ability to translate business needs into technical architecture, resolve complex integrations, coordinate deployments with IT and vendors, and ensure solutions transition safely, maintainably, and scalably from PoC to production.
