Arredonda CD Santiago, S.L.U., an employment integration company of Cáritas Diocesana de Santiago de Compostela, seeks to hire a Forest Work Brigade Supervisor to launch and manage a brigade specializing in forestry work and green area maintenance, with its workplace and operational base located in the city of Pontevedra.
**JOB SUMMARY:**
A person reporting to management who will be responsible for the daily organization and supervision of a brigade dedicated to forestry work and green area maintenance. They will support management in operational planning of tasks and organize their daily execution, staff transportation, and task allocation within the team, in accordance with established guidelines. They will deliver practical training to integration staff, manage warehouse and machinery control, and conduct routine activity monitoring—acting autonomously while maintaining regular communication with management.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
* Education: Professional training, vocational qualification, or other relevant training in forestry, gardening, natural environment, or green area maintenance will be valued.
* Required experience: Documented experience in forestry work, gardening, or green area maintenance; basic operation and maintenance of light forestry machinery; and coordination of work teams or brigades.
* Required knowledge: Safe operation of brush cutters, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, lawn mowers, blowers, and similar equipment; warehouse organization; control of tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and materials; and basic machinery maintenance.
* Competencies: Organizational ability, autonomy, initiative, and incident resolution. Ability to teach, provide clear instructions, and adapt practical training to each individual’s learning pace. Responsibility, empathy, and social sensitivity.
* Digital competencies: Basic use of mobile phones, email, and simple tools for recording work activities, consumption, and incidents.
* Mandatory: Valid Class B driving license.
* Preferred: Prior experience as a supervisor, team leader, or foreman; occupational risk prevention training and first-aid certification; professional phytosanitary product user license; and work or training experience with people in vulnerable situations or in socio-labor integration projects.
**JOB FUNCTIONS, OBJECTIVES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**KEY OBJECTIVES:**
* Ensure proper organization, execution, and monitoring of tasks assigned to the brigade.
* Promote professional learning, acquisition of work habits, and autonomy among integration staff.
* Guarantee safe usage, conservation, and control of machinery, tools, PPE, and materials.
**FUNCTIONS:**
* Plan and organize daily tasks, staff transportation, and task distribution within the team.
* Lead and supervise task execution, ensuring quality, productivity, and proper completion.
* Train integration staff on job-specific tasks, tool and machinery operation, and appropriate work habit development.
* Implement and enforce occupational risk prevention instructions and measures, including correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Operate required light forestry machinery and supervise its use by authorized personnel only.
* Organize the warehouse and control preparation, loading, unloading, cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance of tools, machinery, equipment, and materials.
* Record completed tasks, time spent, transportation, consumption, incidents, and maintenance needs using company-established tools.
* Report work progress, brigade needs, and any relevant incidents to management, coordinating also with integration technical staff when necessary.
* Ensure proper care of the vehicle, workplace, and resources assigned to the brigade.
