We are currently looking for a **Data Platform Engineer**, with advanced English (minimum B2), and solid experience in data platform engineering, automation, and management of environments **in Azure Databricks with Unity Catalog.** This role is not focused on developing pipelines or models, but rather on the operation, standardization, and continuous improvement of the data platform—ensuring scalable, reliable, and secure environments. **Key Responsibilities:** Platform Engineering & Operations * Review and improve implementation patterns for jobs, pipelines, and platform components. * Identify and resolve bottlenecks related to scalability, reliability, and maintainability. * Design, enhance, and standardize platform components, workspace configurations, and environment structures. * Continuously monitor platform health, performance, and stability. Unity Catalog Management * Maintain consistent and secure Unity Catalog configurations across multiple environments. * Manage governance structures (catalogs, schemas, permissions, service principals). * Ensure the access model is efficient and developer-friendly. Performance & Cost Optimization * Analyze and optimize compute configurations, autoscaling, and workload patterns. * Evaluate Spark job performance, Delta Lake usage, and storage design. * Apply optimization best practices (partitioning, Z-ordering, caching, etc.). Automation & Infrastructure as Code * Develop and maintain environment automation using Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) and Terraform. * Guarantee reproducible, versioned environments aligned with CI/CD principles. * Minimize manual configurations, promoting automation.
