Job Summary: Senior Backend Developer to join a specialized team building qualified services, developing in Java with Spring Boot. Key Highlights: 1. Java backend development of regulated services (remote signing, certificates). 2. Work in a non-trivial technical domain: cryptography and European regulation. 3. Small team with real autonomy and a technical career path. We are a 30-person Spanish company specializing in qualified trust services (electronic signature, time stamping, digital certificates) under the European eIDAS / eIDAS 2 regulation. We work with banks, law firms, public administrations, and regulated operators. We have an Infrastructure team and two product teams: an established frontend team and a qualified-services-focused backend team — the smallest one, which we aim to grow. This vacancy is to strengthen that backend team. **What You’ll Do:** As a senior backend developer, you’ll participate in the development lifecycle of our backend products alongside an operational DevOps team and an operational QA team: * Java development — regulated backend services (remote signing, certificate management, evidentiary records, certified email). * Progressive refactoring — of the legacy system (not the majority of the work, but part of it). * Collaboration — with Product Owner, QA, and DevOps using agile methodologies. What we will NOT ask of you (handled by other teams): functional testing (handled by QA), CI/CD pipeline management or Kubernetes administration (handled by DevOps), high-level requirements analysis or product roadmap planning (handled by Product Owner). **Tech Stack and Technical Requirements:** * Java + Spring Boot — minimum 3 years of experience. * REST APIs — design and implementation. * MariaDB — or equivalent relational database (MySQL, PostgreSQL). * Git + pull request workflow + pair review. * AWS — our primary cloud platform, though we also use some services on Oracle Sovereign Cloud and Azure. * Microservices — understanding of the pattern; Kubernetes operation is not required. * Agile methodologies — Scrum / Kanban. **Especially Valued:** * Experience in regulated sectors (banking, fintech, legaltech, healthcare). * Familiarity with eIDAS / eIDAS 2 or qualified electronic trust services. * Intermediate English — required for external meetings and sometimes for technical documentation (European projects, international clients).
