FACILITIES
Supervision of facility renovations—including offices and laboratories—as well as procurement of furniture or modifications to existing furnishings.
Management of maintenance and service providers for the building, including the maintenance contractor, elevators, fire protection systems, security, pest control, waste management, and cleaning; management of annual contracts, scheduling of visits, etc.
Supervision and management of periodic inspections—and, in certain cases, mandatory inspections by industry—of low-voltage and high-voltage installations, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, generator sets, fire detection and extinguishing systems, refrigeration systems, compressors, legionella prevention systems, etc.
Management of specific corrective maintenance tasks carried out by the maintenance contractor.
Ensuring proper operation of the SCADA monitoring system for storage temperatures and HVAC systems, and managing associated alarms.
Ensuring proper preservation and maintenance of facilities and common areas, including periodic implementation of Organization, Order, and Cleaning (5S).
Maintaining timely contact with service providers of this type to secure contracts most advantageous to the company.
EQUIPMENT
Ensuring correct identification and status of laboratory equipment (labeling).
Keeping the equipment inventory updated in the designated software.
Carrying out appropriate maintenance, verification, and/or calibration activities as described in the specific equipment procedures, where applicable, and documenting and recording them in the appropriate formats. As a general rule, these activities are performed by the Maintenance Department, except when outsourced—such outsourced activities are also supervised and managed by maintenance personnel.
Contacting technical support upon request from the equipment responsible person (e.g., breakdowns) or as required for scheduled activities (preventive maintenance, calibrations, etc.).
Managing laboratory equipment maintenance providers (maintenance, calibration, and/or verification), identifying calibration laboratories, requesting quotations, scheduling visits, and reviewing reports against acceptance criteria.
Supervising and reviewing the specific procedures for each laboratory equipment item used by the company.
Maintaining timely contact with service providers of this type to secure contracts most advantageous to the company.
