This growth is driven by the successful implementation of a collaboration strategy with AECOM’s internal clients in regions such as the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and others. **Job Description** We are seeking a **Junior Engineer with experience in bridge and/or structural design** to join our experienced and ambitious Bridges and Structures team. We work across various design phases—from feasibility studies to detailed engineering—on a wide range of projects, both independent projects led by the linear infrastructure team and multidisciplinary collaborations. Our clients span both public and private sectors, including long-term framework agreements with numerous local authorities and Design and Build commissions for major contractors. Our office has a strong track record of successful designs over many years for the United States and Australia, not to mention Canada or the Middle East. If selected, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the world’s most iconic transportation projects as part of a diverse, multicultural team at our European design center (Madrid). **Key responsibilities include:** * Working independently on small projects or portions of larger projects supported by Enterprise Capabilities, following established procedures and practices related to bridges and structures. * Performing routine engineering assignments or detailed engineering tasks involving relatively simple calculations and analyses. * Carrying out structural engineering work within agreed budgets and schedules under limited supervision. * Conducting self-checks of work prior to submission and participating in quality control reviews of documentation produced by engineers of similar or lower experience levels. * Preparing project deliverables to be reviewed by more experienced team members. * Providing guidance and support to newly graduated engineers. **Requirements** **Minimum Requirements.** * Minimum of 2 years of experience in bridge and/or structural design. * Experience with major design codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO; AREMA, Australian Codes; British Standards, etc.). * Demonstrated proficiency with structural analysis software for bridges and structures (preferably Midas Civil, though experience with CSiBridge, SAP2000, or similar tools will also be considered). * Experience on North American projects will be considered a plus. * Fluent English (written and spoken) **Education:** * Master's degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in Roads, Canals, and Bridges. **Additional Information** **At AECOM, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity** *Our Freedom to Grow hybrid working philosophy is the cornerstone of our success as a business – supporting a culture of flexibility, trust and performance at AECOM.* \#LI\-GA1 **About AECOM** AECOM is the world’s trusted infrastructure consulting firm, offering professional services throughout the entire project lifecycle—from advisory, planning, design, and engineering to program and construction management.
