At Admon Talent, we are looking for a PLC Programmer for a machinery manufacturer located in the Vallès Occidental.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PLC Software Development:
* Develop and maintain PLC software for complex industrial machinery and automated production systems.
* Program machine sequences, operating modes, state machines, process control, alarms, interlocks, and recovery sequences.
* Develop robust and structured PLC code using Structured Text (ST) and Ladder Logic.
* Analyze existing machine software and implement improvements in reliability, maintainability, diagnostics, and performance.
* Develop reusable software modules and standardized functions that can be deployed across different machines and projects.
* Participate in the continuous evolution and standardization of InduBond’s machine software platform.
* Develop and enhance machine safety logic and process protection, including alarm management, interlocks, fault detection, and controlled recovery strategies.
* Perform offline development, simulation, and testing prior to deployment on machines.
Incident Resolution and Software Analysis:
* Diagnose complex machinery failures related to PLC logic, sensors, actuators, communications, HMI, servos, and peripheral equipment.
* Analyze machine data, alarm histories, and process sequences to identify root causes of intermittent or difficult-to-reproduce failures.
* Provide technical support to Service and Commissioning teams when advanced software analysis is required.
* Implement diagnostic tools and software improvements to facilitate remote incident resolution and machine maintenance.
* Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for machines installed at customer facilities worldwide.
HMI and Machine Interface:
* Develop and maintain HMI applications and machine user interfaces.
* Implement alarm visualization, machine status, recipes, parameters, diagnostics, and maintenance functions.
* Work with PC-based applications and HMI systems that communicate directly with the PLC.
Industrial Communications
* Configure and program industrial networks and communication protocols.
* Integrate PLCs with HMIs, PCs, remote I/O, servo systems, robots, sensors, and other industrial equipment.
* Work with Ethernet-based industrial communications and protocols such as Modbus TCP, OPC UA, and other machine-to-machine communication systems.
* Develop and resolve communication issues between machines and higher-level factory systems when necessary.
Motion Control and Servos:
* Configure and program servo drives and motion control systems.
* Develop positioning, synchronization, and motion sequences integrated into the machine’s overall logic.
* Diagnose issues related to servos, encoders, positioning, and motion.
Machine Commissioning and Validation:
* Load, test, and validate PLC and HMI software on newly manufactured machines.
* Perform I/O checks, functional tests, and full validation of machine sequences.
* Verify correct operation of sensors, actuators, safety systems, communications, and peripheral equipment.
* Higher Vocational Training Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree in Industrial Automation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in industrial machinery programming and/or automated production equipment controlled by PLCs.
* Solid knowledge of PLC programming and ability to understand and develop complex machinery sequences.
* Good knowledge of Structured Text (ST) and Ladder Logic.
* Strong understanding of industrial automation architectures, sensors, actuators, I/O systems, and machine control.
* Experience troubleshooting complex and intermittent machinery issues.
* Good knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols.
* Experience in HMI development and PLC-HMI integration.
* Experience with servo systems and motion control will be especially valued.
