We currently have openings in Madrid and Bilbao for Backend Software Engineers (Java, Microservices, and Python) who wish to advance their professional careers at GFT. We seek enthusiastic, proactive individuals eager to keep learning and grow within a multicultural, dynamic, collaborative, and challenging environment. **Your main responsibilities will be:** Although they will depend on your knowledge and experience, your primary functions with us would generally include: * Understanding client needs and working closely with relevant teams to ensure the cloud-based solution developed aligns with client requirements and GFT’s Value Proposition. * Analyzing, developing, and maintaining software modules (Java, Python), working both on existing code and new development, based on functional and technical requirements and specifications. * Conducting code reviews to identify improvement opportunities and promote sound development practices. * Collaborating in the design and development of software module and application prototypes. * Designing, developing, and executing unit tests to ensure code quality and correct functionality. * Using and consolidating knowledge of project testing tools and incident management (bug tracking) processes. * Actively participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle—from analysis through deployment and maintenance. **Requirements:** * Minimum 6 years of backend software development experience with Java. * Solid experience designing and developing microservice-based architectures using Spring Boot. * Demonstrable experience developing with Python. * Extensive knowledge of REST API design and implementation. * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus. * Experience applying development best practices (Clean Code, SOLID, design patterns) and conducting code reviews. * Ability to technically lead development efforts, mentor less-experienced team members, and collaborate on technical decision-making. * Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban). * English proficiency at B2 level or higher. * Availability to attend the office three days per week (Madrid or Bilbao). **Personal competencies:** * Teamwork * Communication skills, fostering knowledge-sharing dynamics, with equal interest in learning and teaching. * Proactivity in seeking new solutions and improvements At GFT, we consider diversity one of our fundamental pillars and promote an inclusive work environment grounded in cooperation and mutual respect.
