**Positions Available** ---------------------- 1 **Company** ----------- Tragsa **Project / Reason for Hiring** --------------------------------- Empresa de Transformación Agraria, S.A., S.M.E., M.P., the parent company of the TRAGSA GROUP, specialized in activities related to rural development and nature conservation, seeks to hire 1 Forestry Engineer for works in the Community of Madrid. **Work Location** -------------------- * Community of Madrid Address: Leganés **Functions and Tasks** ---------------------- * Review of draft forest planning documents held by the Forest Conservation Area, to verify compliance with applicable forest management guidelines and, where applicable, with forest certification requirements (UNE 16\.2002:2013\). * Updating draft forest planning documents managed by the Forest Conservation Area: data, special plans, annexes, assessment of impacts on the Natura 2000 Network, etc., so that they may be proposed for approval. * Preparation of thinning plans. * Preparation of proposals for forest exploitation in managed forests. * Coordination of a team of three forestry technicians whose role would be to support the technicians of the Community of Madrid (CAM) in reviewing forest planning documents, updating forest planning documents, preparing thinning plans, preparing proposals for forest exploitation, drafting construction projects, and setting out works on site. * Marking or demarcating forest exploitation areas on-site. * Preparation of technical reports containing the necessary data to be included in the terms of reference for forest exploitation contracts, following field verification of stand characteristics. * Measurements and verifications during execution of forest exploitation activities. * Drafting of construction projects to be carried out in forests managed by the Forest Conservation Area: \- forest stand improvement works (silvicultural thinnings, cultural treatments, reforestation, and regeneration assistance). \- improvement or construction of basic forest infrastructure to enhance logistics, accessibility, and viability of extracting products derived from vegetation interventions (forest roads) or pasture exploitation (fencing, livestock corrals, drinking troughs, enclosures, etc.). \- improvement of public-use infrastructure (fountains, recreational areas). * Inventory, characterization, and reporting on the condition of infrastructure in managed forests: roads, fencing, recreational areas, livestock infrastructure, fountains, etc. * Field sampling to monitor regeneration status or assess success rates of reforestation carried out in managed forests. * On-site surveying of forest boundaries, following detailed boundary determination and, where applicable, boundary marking studies, and preparation of reports on possible cartographic adjustments. **Specific Requirements** -------------------------- Compliance with the requirements must be substantiated by attaching the following documents, as appropriate, in the “Annexes” section of the application (or during the process): * Official academic qualification certificate or proof of payment of fees for issuance of the academic degree. * Employment history record and/or employment contract enabling verification and accreditation of the required professional experience. * Annexes documenting practical training enabling verification and accreditation of the required academic experience, where applicable. ### **Education** #### **Qualification** * Hold a degree in Forestry Engineering or a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry Engineering plus an Official University Master’s Degree in Forestry Engineering (qualification recognized in Spain or equivalence certificate issued by the General Secretariat for Universities) ### **Other Mandatory Requirements** * Valid type B driving license **Merit Criteria (Evaluable)** ------------------------ ### **Education** #### **Additional Training** * Accredited training in ArcGIS ### **Previous Experience** * From 6 months to 1 year of experience in executing forest improvement works and supervising work crews (assessed during technical interview) * From 6 months to 1 year of experience in developing forestry projects (assessed during technical interview) **Observations** ----------------- * Offer includes: + Fixed-term substitution contract with an estimated duration of 5 months, depending on the triggering event. + Full-time working hours.
