We will travel in 4x4 vehicles from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert in the Sahara, home to dunes over 150 meters high. We’ll sleep in a **Jaima** (a traditional Berber tent) among the dunes, enjoy a party with local Berber musicians by the light of the fire and the moon, and stargaze from the heart of the desert.\n\nThe plan is to spend 5 days in Morocco. We’ll start the adventure in 4x4s at the Marrakech airport, cross the Atlas Mountains to see waterfalls, valleys, and snowy peaks, head to Ouarzazate, pass through Tinerhir (where we’ll stay in typical fortress-hotels known as **Kasbahs**), and finally reach the Merzouga Desert. In Merzouga, we’ll take camels on a route to the Berber camp where we will sleep in a Jaima. At night, we’ll have an Arabic party with Berber musicians (and for those interested, we can also go quad biking through the dunes). We will return via parallel routes to Marrakech to stay in a traditional **Riad**. There, we will explore the city and end our trip by relaxing in a peaceful and luxurious Moroccan **Hammam**.\n\nI lived for 4 months in the middle of the Sahara Desert, in the heart of Mauritania, staying with nomadic Berber and Tuareg populations. I know the region perfectly.\n\n**DAY 1 (Saturday, January 3rd):** We’ll meet at Barajas Airport (Madrid) to fly to Marrakech. Local guides will be waiting for us there with 4x4 vehicles. We will cross the Atlas Mountains, where we’ll have lunch and go on a short hike. We’ll arrive in Ouarzazate to have dinner, visit this legendary Berber town, and sleep in a **Kasbah** (a typical Sahrawi fortress-house).\n\n**DAY 2 (Sunday, January 4th):** Early wake-up call and breakfast before traveling to the iconic village of Merzouga. There, we’ll leave the 4x4s and take camels through the dunes to the nomadic Berber camp. We’ll enjoy a party with Sahrawi drums, have dinner around the fire, and sleep under the desert stars (optional quad biking is available beforehand for those who want it).\n\n**DAY 3 (Monday, January 5th):** No need to wake up too early. We’ll head back to the cars by camel and drive to Skoura, a beautiful oasis town. We will visit its Sahrawi sand fortress-castle and sleep in a stunning Kasbah right inside the Oasis.
