**Job Description** **Who will you work with?** Fanox, part of Wabtec Corporation, is located in Derio, Spain, and designs and manufactures relays for medium-voltage applications. You will work within the Applications Team, reporting to the Director of Applications. **How will you make a difference?** As a **Communications and Cybersecurity Engineer**, you will be responsible for leading the specification of cybersecurity requirements, verifying their correct implementation, and identifying vulnerabilities. You will also manage the validation of communication protocols implemented in our equipment. **What will your day-to-day look like?** **Specification:** * Communication requirements for new designs to ensure they meet market needs. * Definition of cybersecurity requirements in accordance with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) for protection and control equipment. **Validation:** * Validate communication protocols implemented in equipment. * Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate security testing (penetration testing). * Lead certification of communication protocols and cybersecurity measures at accredited external laboratories. **Participate in type-approval processes** with electric utilities and OEMs as the subject-matter expert in communications and cybersecurity. **Technical documentation development:** * Communications: Document and update manuals related to communication protocols. * Cybersecurity: Develop and maintain technical documentation required by the CRA (risk analysis, traceability, updates). **Technical support:** * Deliver training courses, seminars, and workshops internally and externally. * Address technical inquiries—both internal and external—related to: * + Communication protocols + Cybersecurity, including: Explanation of implemented measures; Justification of CRA compliance; Recommendations for secure configuration and best practices. **Monitor** compliance with safety standards as defined by the SPA. **Properly segregate** waste and act in accordance with defined emergency procedures, following environmental awareness guidelines. **Take responsibility** for your own learning. **Respect the Principle of Equality** within the company without any discrimination, including real and effective equality for LGBTIQ+ individuals. **What are we looking for in you?** * Industrial Engineering degree (Electrical or Control & Automation specialization) or Telecommunications Engineering degree. Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Control & Automation. * +4 years of experience in a similar role (in the field of electrical protection). * Cyber Resilience Act (CRA): Security-by-design requirements, vulnerability management, traceability, security updates, technical documentation, and regulatory compliance. * Communication protocols used in electrical substations, such as Serial Communication (Modbus RTU, DNP3.0 Serial, IEC103), Ethernet and TCP/IP (Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3.0 TCP/IP), telecontrol (IEC101, IEC104…), and IEC61850. * Interoperability with the grid and communication with system masters (SCADA, RTUs,…). * Identification and analysis of vulnerabilities in OT devices. * High level of English proficiency. * Equipment certification (penetration testing, validation of security measures). * Decision-making, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills. * Willingness to travel. *Legal authorization to work in the EU is required.
