Grupo Babesten seeks maintenance staff to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals across our residential care facilities and day centers.
Reporting to the Group’s Maintenance Manager and to the Center’s Management, your mission will be:
To collaborate in and/or carry out operational activities, basic technical tasks, and/or less complex tasks related to the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and facilities (e.g., electricity, gas, plumbing, refrigeration, telecommunications, furniture, heating, painting, masonry, etc.).
**Key Responsibilities:**
Regarding center organization:
* Directly responsible for the operation and maintenance of all center facilities; plans required work, carries it out personally, and delegates execution to technical support assistants and helpers.
* Performs preventive maintenance routines according to the agreed Preventive Maintenance Plan and manufacturers’ recommendations regarding conservation and life extension of equipment.
* Upon detecting failures, diagnoses their root cause and assesses capacity to resolve repairs promptly using internal resources, or recommends referral to specialists; subsequently approves completed repairs upon receipt, ensuring facilities and services remain fully operational.
* Manages necessary repairs and procurement/replacement of components, materials, and tools used for maintenance, recording all actions per established center procedures while strictly adhering to occupational safety regulations.
* Adapts preventive and corrective maintenance plans for facilities and equipment.
* Conducts appropriate machinery inspections per established procedures and oversees preventive inspections and/or repairs carried out by subcontracted companies.
* Maintains control over and performs repairs on both interior and exterior elements.
* Requests quotations and places orders related to area requirements, as budgeted by Management.
* Prepares and maintains an updated inventory of facilities and equipment.
* Forecasts investments required within the scope of responsibility.
* Participates in the development of maintenance protocols and procedures.
* Coordinates the Self-Protection Plan.
* Coordinates waste management and monitors proper waste segregation.
* Tracks utility consumption (electricity, water, gas, etc.) and proposes improvement measures or solutions if incidents are detected.
* Prepares Preventive and Corrective Maintenance reports.
* Monitors service-related objectives and indicators and implements improvement actions when required.
* In general, undertakes any other duties not previously specified but assigned within the scope of professional practice, technical competence, and related to the above responsibilities.
Regarding service users:
* Responds to requests from service users and their families concerning repairs of movable and immovable property, whether for personal or communal use.
Regarding center staff:
* Manages fault reports submitted by staff and communicates resolution status.
* Provides instructions and guidance on the safe use of materials, machinery, and tools to staff who operate them.
* Manages notifications and announcements to staff regarding center facilities, equipment, and materials.
Minimum Requirements:
* Higher Vocational Training (FP II) in Maintenance.
* Knowledge of masonry, electricity, heating and domestic hot water systems, fire protection systems, etc.
* Experience in maintenance of healthcare buildings, residential care facilities and day centers, hospitals, clinics, etc. will be valued.
