From infinitely recyclable aluminum cans and cups to aerosol bottles — our mission is to contribute to a better community, society, and world. **Position overview:** The Continuous Improvement Specialist position serves as the catalyst for continuous improvement projects and activities across the plant to achieve annual targets and to deploy and sustain the Ball Manufacturing Excellence management system. **Key responsibilities include:** * Responsible for BME (Ball Manufacturing Excellence) self-assessment and improvement plan execution, embedding standards into Operations’ way of working as per BME intent. * Develop and maintain a Plant Manufacturing Excellence Master Plan that supports the delivery of the business’s short- and long-term objectives. * Lead business-critical cross-functional projects that either enable or directly deliver FFG (Fuel for Growth) savings in respective cost categories, utilizing specified minimum project requirements. * Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement activities using Lean tools and techniques (VSM, 5S, SMED, PDCA, TPM, Problem Solving Techniques, …) to improve and sustain performance. * Act as a change agent for the business and coach at all levels using GROW coaching techniques. * Lead problem-solving projects by training, coaching, and facilitating teams to perform effective root cause analysis methods. * Examine data sets from Manufacturing Execution & Quality Systems to identify trends and draw conclusions about the information they contain, using statistical tools. * Manage the plant’s best practices program; liaise with the company’s continuous improvement network for benchmarking both internal and external best practices and rolling them out within the plant. * Manage the Plant Manufacturing Excellence capital hopper, ensuring the project pipeline remains up to date with relevant information to allow projects to proceed if selected as priorities. **What are we looking for?** * University degree in Science, Engineering, or Business (Desirable) * Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry * Solid understanding of LEAN tools and systems, with a demonstrated portfolio of leading lean project management * Solid understanding of statistical process control and data analysis; Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (Desirable) * Experience applying advanced statistical tools (e.g., DOE, ANOVA) in Six Sigma projects (Desirable) * Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, consistently seeking to understand how to engage and involve diverse individuals * Ability to build trust and align disparate groups both within and beyond the organization * Change agent with strong credibility and influence across the organization * “Can-do” attitude and determination to do whatever it takes to succeed * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English * Computer literacy (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Ball Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
