At ACCIONA, within its Water Business, we are seeking a Financial Director with international mobility to lead the economic-financial management of the Project Company under a Project Finance scheme, participating in some of the company’s most strategic projects. Job Description The Financial Director will be responsible for leading the economic-financial management of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in charge of the design, financing, construction, and operation of a plant under a BOT scheme. They will serve as the key financial reference point for shareholders, financial institutions, auditors, and the granting authority. Key responsibilities include the preparation of financial statements, maintenance and updating of the financial model, supervision of project treasury and debt, control of financial covenants and financial ratios, as well as coordination with banks, advisors, and auditors throughout the contract lifecycle. The main responsibilities of the role are:* Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement) in accordance with local and international accounting standards and regulatory requirements. * Coordinate external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors to facilitate the process. * Review payment requests submitted by contractors. * Calculate, request, and manage Senior Debt Drawdowns during construction, in coordination with the Lenders’ Technical Advisor, ensuring compliance with established requirements. * Supervise interest, commitment fees, and financial costs, including settlement of hedging instruments (swaps). * Manage cash flow planning and forecasting, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and debt servicing. * Ensure compliance with financial requirements related to guarantees, letters of credit (LCs), and DSRA. * Update and maintain the project’s financial models, analyzing key indicators such as cash flows, DSCR, and other profitability metrics. * Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity tests, assessing the impact of different variables on the project’s financial performance. * Prepare and present financial reports and project progress analyses to management, the board of directors, and shareholders to support decision-making and strategic planning. * Guarantee compliance with financial covenants, contractual and regulatory obligations arising from financing agreements. * Manage relationships with financial institutions, government agencies, and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. * Serve as the primary contact point with financiers, coordinating information flow and monitoring financial performance. * Collaborate with technical teams, project partners, and the granting administration (offtaker) to align financial objectives with technical and contractual goals. * Supervise local taxation and proper application of tax regulations (VAT, withholdings, transfer pricing, corporate tax, customs, etc.). * Prepare and lead local content reports and associated audits. Candidate Requirements Academic Background* Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, or similar. Experience and Qualifications* 7 to 10 years of experience in structured finance, project finance, investment banking, or related financial roles. * Proven experience in structuring and closing Project Finance transactions, preferably in the water, energy, or infrastructure sectors. * Solid understanding of project finance principles, advanced financial modeling, valuation, and risk analysis. * Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and with multiple stakeholders. * Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, financial markets, and international best practices in project financing. Technical Skills* Advanced financial modeling in Excel. * Concession accounting and knowledge of IFRIC 12. * Advanced proficiency in MS Office and ERP tools (SAP / SAP Business One). * Experience in audit management, covenants, financial ratios, and cash flow management. * Professional certification desirable (CFA, CPA, PMP, or Project Finance Institute Certification).
