DESCRIPTION
At SG Tech, we are looking for a Senior Database Architecture profile. A high level of English is required to join our team in the banking sector in the USA.
The engagement model is 100% remote, and the project involves leading a 3-month assessment of the PostgreSQL database environment (PSI) for the scope of **Impact and QlikView/QlikSense**, as well as defining the target architecture and migration strategy toward the ***datalake***.
**Specifications:**
* **Engagement Model:** 100% Remote.
* **Working Hours:** Full US hours. We are checking whether flexible hours are acceptable (Mon–Thu: 11:00–20:00, Fri: 11:00–17:00).
* **Start Date:** **I**mmediate.
### **Main Responsibilities:**
**Current State (AS\-IS) Assessment:**
* Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing PostgreSQL database environment.
* Document schemas, tables, relationships, constraints, triggers, and stored procedures.
* Identify data producers, ETL processes, and upstream systems.
**Target Architecture (TO\-BE) Definition and Migration Strategy:**
* Collaborate with the Global CTO to define the target structure in SCIB’s datalake, ensuring alignment with Santander’s data governance standards.
* Define the roadmap and migration phases, rollback plan, timeline, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
### **Profile Requirements:**
* **Experience:** 5–7 years of experience combining solid architecture knowledge with hands\-on backend development.
* **Primary Technology:** Java (Spring), with a strong backend focus (purely frontend profiles will not be considered).
* **Databases:** Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, query tuning, indexing, execution plans).
* **Modernization:** Proven experience in database migration and system modernization.
* **Architecture:** Strong understanding of data and application architecture.
### **Desirable:**
* Familiarity with or exposure to infrastructure, **CI/CD methodologies (Jenkins/GitHub Actions), and the AWS ecosystem** will be positively valued.
* **Sector:** Prior experience working in highly regulated environments will be preferred.
