Position Summary: Stantec is seeking a Senior Social Specialist to lead permitting and social management strategies, advise on citizen participation, and assess social impacts, ensuring project compliance. Work with Peruvian standards, ICMM, IFC, and World Bank mining guidelines. **Requisition Number:** 24302BR **Description:** Stantec is seeking to hire a SENIOR SOCIAL SPECIALIST for its offices in Peru, requiring a professional with at least 15 years of overall work experience. Key responsibilities include: * Leading the permitting strategy and developing social component work plans according to specific requirements—such as baseline studies, citizen participation plans, and social audits—aligned with Peruvian standards, ICMM, IFC, and World Bank guidelines. * Providing advisory support and accompaniment during citizen participation processes for IGAs. * Leading the strategy for identification and assessment of social impacts. * Leading and developing Social Management Plans. * Leading the preparation of Social Diagnostics. * Advising on tax-related works (desirable). * Providing ongoing internal technical support and client-facing support throughout Environmental Certification processes. * Ensuring adherence to assigned project schedules and budgets. * Leading projects and proposals with internal multidisciplinary teams. **Qualifications:** Requirements for this position are: * Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology, or related fields. * Minimum of 15 years of professional experience. * Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office. * 12 years of experience preparing EIAs or MEIAs—or similar documents—in the mining sector. * At least four years of recent consulting experience related to environmental studies for large-scale mining projects during construction, operation, and closure phases. * Participation in at least one mining-sector EIA or MEIA with SENACE, particularly in planning and preparing social baselines, social impacts, Social Management Plans, and citizen participation mechanisms. * Knowledge of social component impact assessment methodologies per SENACE guidelines and regulations, and ICMM guidelines for mine closure scenarios. * Experience coordinating with clients to design Social Management Plans. * Familiarity with legal regulations governing IGA certification, especially those concerning citizen participation mechanisms throughout the mining lifecycle (exploration, exploitation, and closure). * Advanced-level proficiency in SPSS. * Advanced-level English proficiency. **About Stantec:** Stantec’s global community comprises approximately 31,000 employees working across more than 450 locations on six continents.
