Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclogging toilets and drains), electrical components—including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices—replace switches and electrical outlets, and other guestroom items. Program televisions and perform general engineering maintenance and inventory tasks. Use lockout/tagout procedures before performing maintenance work. Perform repairs to interior and exterior landscaping features as well as exterior landscaping sprinklers. Possess basic computer skills, including entering air-handling unit schedules and adjusting temperature settings. Follow all company policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, hazardous working conditions, accidents, and injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials per safety guidelines. Ensure wearing a clean and complete uniform at all times; maintain a neat and professional appearance while on duty; respect confidentiality when sharing information related to the brand and/or hotel; and protect all company property. Greet and welcome all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guest service needs; assist guests with disabilities; and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Meet quality requirements and standards. Develop positive and constructive professional relationships with peers; unite and support one another to achieve common goals; listen and respond appropriately to fellow employees’ concerns. Use clear and courteous language in all communications. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds (22.7 kg) without assistance and heavier objects with assistance.
