MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
Design and conceptualize new surface autonomous systems, preferably also underwater.
**Integrate sensors and navigation:** IMU/INS, DVL, altimeter, pressure, IO, magnetometers, cameras, and sonar.
Develop and tune controllers (PID/LQR/MPC), estimators (Kalman filters), and autonomy and mission strategies.
Collaborate with the robotics software team on ROS2 (C\+\+/Python), drivers, nodes, simulation, and CI/CD.
Select materials and sealing solutions suitable for marine environments (IP68/69K, wet-mate connectors, corrosion protection).
**Define and execute test plans:** bench, tank, sea; data analysis and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with power electronics and BMS (Li\-ion batteries), communications (Ethernet, CAN, RS\-485, UART), and acoustics.
**Generate technical documentation:** schematics, BOMs, drawings, manuals, FMEAs, and certification dossiers.
Support operations during industrialization and customers during deployments and diagnostics.
Plan and coordinate projects to ensure timely and proper delivery using agile methodologies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials
Master’s Degree in Robotics and Automation
Master’s Degree in Automatic and Industrial Electronics Engineering
Training courses to be considered during Phase 1 (Merit Assessment) related to the position being filled:
Robotics course, sensor fusion course
Data\-Driven Mechanics
CAD (SolidWorks/Fusion/Inventor)
C\+\+ and Python programming
Abaqus CAE
MATLAB/Simulink or Gazebo
FEniCS
WORKING CONDITIONS
**Entry Level:**
**Junior:** per collective agreement salary tables, D4 – D3 (€29,644.47 \- €35,202.91)
**Contract Type:** Permanent
The selected candidate shall perform duties under the working hours regime applicable to the assigned position, which may include regular hours, shift work, or any other special working hours arrangements stipulated in the current Collective Agreement.
