Sales Assistant (Garden Section)

This position focuses on essential sales and maintenance activities within the garden section of a retail establishment. Key responsibilities include direct customer service, providing specialized advice on plant selection, substrates, and specific products for garden care or pest control. Additionally, meticulous maintenance of plants displayed in-store is required, ensuring proper watering and general care to guarantee their health and presentation. Daily tasks include organizing and restocking inventory, maintaining an orderly and well-supplied sales area. This also involves supporting logistical tasks such as unloading new merchandise and handling heavy materials, including bags of soil or large-sized planters, which requires a certain level of physical fitness. The role is fundamental to sustaining departmental operational efficiency and visual appeal, directly contributing to the customer’s shopping experience and internal section efficiency. Work takes place in a dynamic environment where practical horticultural knowledge is combined with customer service skills. The ultimate objective is to support the full product lifecycle—from receipt through to sale—ensuring quality standards at every stage. Employment is arranged via a temporary contract managed by a Temporary Work Agency, with genuine prospects for continued employment with the company based on demonstrated performance. Working hours are rotating from Monday to Saturday, organized into two fixed shifts: a morning shift from 08:00 to 14:40 and an afternoon shift from 14:30 to 21:10. Salary is set in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement for the retail or gardening sector. At least one year of verifiable prior experience is required in environments such as nurseries, garden centers, or companies engaged in pest control and agricultural treatments. Basic knowledge of various plant types, their watering requirements, fertilizer application, and general care is necessary. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Saturday on rotating morning and afternoon shifts, demonstrating a proactive attitude and strong customer service orientation.
