Job Summary: We are seeking a Refractory Engineer to monitor, track, and repair refractories in Electric Arc Furnaces and Ladles, thereby improving performance in the Steelmaking Plant. The main responsibilities of this position are: * Organize and supervise interventions in Electric Arc Furnaces and Ladles to ensure effective solutions in terms of quality, schedule, and cost. * Analyze and respond to critical situations involving Electric Arc Furnaces and Ladles. * Negotiate, agree upon, and analyze improvement proposals and process-related issues with suppliers. * Supervise and monitor contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with technical specifications regarding quality, timing, and execution. * Analyze incidents and failures, and define corrective actions to prevent recurrence. * Coordinate, implement, and analyze trials of new materials and assemblies, in coordination with other departments where necessary. * Audit operational practices to verify compliance, and modify them if required. * Coordinate and supervise less common refractory works, such as burners, trolleys, emergency ladles, etc. * Coordinate activities with Production and Maintenance departments to ensure work execution meets quality, schedule, and cost requirements. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the Steelmaking Plant’s Safety and Health procedures and regulations. * Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field; preferably metallurgical specialization and/or minimum 5 years’ verifiable industrial work experience. * Prior experience in refractory installation.
