**ARQUIMEA**, we are a **technology company** operating globally and providing innovate solutions and products in highly demanding sectors. Our areas of activity are **Aerospace, Defense \& Security, Big Science, Biotechnology and Fintech.** **In** **ARQUIMEA SPACE** develops **spaceflight parts and equipment for satellites and launchers**. We specialize in thermal control systems, structural panels, optical payloads, avionics, release and deployment mechanisms, and rad\-hard microelectronics. Together with our tech partners we provide **high\-throughput smallsats and their subsystems**. Our brand\-new factory in Madrid is suited to **integrate satellites and constellations**. We are looking for a **Senior Mechanisms Engineer** with the mission to take responsibility for **leading the technical development** cycle of **high reliability space mechanisms** and **mechanical systems**, covering all the product lifecycle from conception to serial production. You will contribute to the **identification** and **definition** of **new products** departing from market/customer and internal needs. **Tasks to be performed:** * Understand user/market needs and **produce** detailed **technical specifications** accordingly. Derivation to lower\-level Requirements and maintenance of requirements trees and related documentation. * **Technical leadership** on mechanisms product development projects. * **Define technical development strategies**, in close collaboration with Project Managers and the technical team. * **Define top level architectures** and **interfaces** for the products under development. * **Coordinate** the **technical development** with the specialists in different engineering areas and identify cross\-area needs. * **Coordination** of **key technical designs** and **analyses**. * **Complete trade\-offs** and **preliminary concept designs**, **feasibility analyses**, identify **critical areas** and prepare plans for **mitigation**. * **Lead** and **perform top level mechanisms design**, **analyses** and **trade\-offs**. * **Lead project technical design**, **analysis**, **production**, **verification** and **validation** during the development. * Authoring of clear and concise **technical reports** and processes, demonstrating a clear understanding of mechanisms design, manufacturing and test. * **Support test campaigns** and **definition** of early **prototypes** for **validation** (stress, thermal, radiation, electrical, manufacturing, test, etc.) according to space standards. * **Develop** and **maintain** excellent **customer** working **relationships**. * **Communicate with stakeholders** to identify potential needs and requirements. * **Assist** in preparation of technical elements for **bids** and **proposals**. * This role may involve some occasional travel. **Required skills, experience and candidate profile:** * **Degree** in relevant engineering discipline (**Mechanical engineering**, Telecommunication, **Aerospace**, Industrial Engineering) with **relevant experience in the Space industry**. * **At least 5 years’** proven **experience** working with **complex, high\-reliability Mechanisms in Space or relevant areas**. * **Systems Engineering** lifecycle **knowledge** and experience. * Experience in **verification** and **validation processes**, including **environmental and functional testing.** * Ability to work independently and lead a multi\-disciplinary technical team. * Excellent **analytical** and **problem solving skills**. * Excellent interpersonal skills, including **presentation** and **communication.** * Sound working experience of Motors, Gearboxes, Tribology and **Materials** for **Space environments**. * Capability to **model complex mechanical systems**, perform hand simple sizings and identify critical elements. * Experience **leading development plans** for **mechanical systems**. * Hands on **design experience** of **3D CAD tools** (**SolidWorks**) and other engineering tools. * Hard experience of **Finite Element Method**. Experience with Nastran/Patran will be highly valued. * Experience with different **analyses tools**, such as **kinematic analyses tools**, data analysis,… is desirable. * **Solid electrical/electronic knowledge**. * **Fluency in English and Spanish**. * Eligible to work in EU. * The position is **located in** our Headquarters of **Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid).** The candidate must be eligible to work in the EU and must be able to travel to the US.
