




Job Summary: Grupo Planeta seeks a Temporary Contracting Technician for the Copyright department, focusing on intellectual property rights management for authors and editorial processes. Within Grupo Planeta’s Editorial Division, we are seeking a ***Contracting Technician (Temporary)*** for our ***Copyright*** department. What do we do in Grupo Planeta’s Copyright Department? Our department manages the intellectual property rights of our authors. Internally, we collaborate closely with editors from all of the Group’s publishing imprints, as well as with the marketing and communications, art and design, and finance departments. We also maintain direct contact with authors, literary agencies, and publishers—both national and international. We draft contracts for the acquisition of rights from authors, illustrators, translators, etc., and manage rights related to book covers, photographs, and illustrations appearing in publications. We process payments to authors under these contracts and royalty settlements generated therefrom. We issue invoices for third-party rights sales—both domestic and international—and manage collections to remit payments to authors. Our work environment is highly diverse, integrated, and global. What will your day-to-day responsibilities involve? * **Contract review, management, and processing**: You will analyze and process contracts for the acquisition of publishing rights, as well as other agreements related to rights acquisition. You will ensure their accurate drafting, legal compliance, and proper archiving. You will also maintain direct contact with agents, authors, and other involved parties to formalize agreements. * **Report preparation**: You will prepare reports related to sales, contracting, title tracking, and possibly editorial performance analysis. * **Administrative tasks**: These include recording and monitoring author royalty settlements, document management, sending notifications, and coordinating with other departments (finance, legal, marketing, etc.). * **Monthly accruals**: You will participate in the accounting process for recording income generated by book sales, ensuring correct allocation within internal systems. * **Editorial support**: You will assist with operational tasks that facilitate the editorial team’s workflow.
