Job Summary: Responsible for industrial process automation, the technician participates in the design, development, and supervision of factory improvement projects, managing and implementing changes in control systems and providing support to the maintenance team. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead process improvement analysis and incident diagnosis. 2. Design and implement changes in control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA). 3. Participate in the design, development, and supervision of improvement projects. **Job Title: Automation Technician** * **POSITION DESCRIPTION** * Responsible for industrial process automation from electrical, instrumentation, programming, and control/supervision perspectives. * Participate in the design, development, and supervision of factory improvement projects by managing and/or implementing necessary changes in control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DMO\-MES), while respecting and ensuring compliance with Nestlé standards and assuming responsibility for the proper transfer of such modifications to maintenance and operations levels. * Provide support to the maintenance team and integrate into cross-functional teams focused on adding value to processes. * **YOUR DAY TO DAY…** * **Daily Operations and Maintenance:** * Participate in and/or lead improvement analysis and incident diagnosis, supporting the maintenance team in understanding process operation and/or in collecting data and drawing conclusions. * Design necessary changes in control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DMO\-MES) in response to physical or functional modifications of production lines. * Implement and/or supervise implementation of control system changes across the factory (PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DMO\-MES). * Manage changes to factory PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DMO\-MES applications, ensuring that both backup copies of control systems and documentation for those systems and their components remain up to date. * Identify necessary hardware updates for control systems. * Plan and apply knowledge of ANSI/ISA\-95 standard. * Ensure efficiency in both personal responsibilities and collaboration with internal colleagues and external contractors, aligned with NCE philosophy—through participation in operational meetings and calibration, as well as problem-solving/failure-analysis tools (IVAA, BDA, DMAIC). * **Projects:** * Design the control system architecture to achieve maximum integration, ensuring compliance with FAS rules and implementation of applicable DMO\-MES modules. * Participate in URS definition, contributing both to its drafting and reviewing the URS provided by the relevant TCU in standardized process areas. * Define the FDS, review the FDS provided by the relevant TCU in standardized process areas, or validate the FDS proposed by the project integrator. * Supervise proper project execution, ensuring adherence to project timelines, alignment of control systems with specifications, compliance with local and corporate standards, and budget control. * Lead Project Acceptance Testing (FAT, SAT), defining necessary criteria to ensure, prior to commissioning, that the control system is reliable and meets defined specifications. * Participate in project commissioning and validation. * Manage changes to factory PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DMO\-MES applications affected by the project, ensuring that both backup copies of control systems and documentation for those systems and their components remain up to date. * **DOES YOUR PROFILE FIT?** * Engineering degree * Courses/Specialization in Electronics, Automation, and Computer Science * Specific training and/or experience: PLC and SCADA programming, preferably Rockwell and Aveva Wonderware. Prior experience: 1–2 years in a similar role * High-level English language proficiency (Level 4\)
