Description

**ABOUT THE COMPANY** C4 Angola is a specialized climate consultancy with a global reputation for designing and implementing adaptation and impact mitigation projects. Since 2006, we have implemented over 400 climate-focused initiatives across more than 115 countries in Africa, Asia\-Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Our clients include the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), UNDP, IFC, IFAD, GIZ, FAO, Conservation International, UNICEF, and a broad range of national governments and development banks. In 2025, C4 Angola joined TAG International Group — a strategic move that expanded our reach and strengthened our capacity to deliver integrated climate, security, governance, and development solutions in fragile and complex contexts. As part of this group, we remain a mission-driven, technically robust organization offering innovative and sustainable solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s climate and development challenges. **ABOUT THE ROLE** The Junior Field Environmental Assistant will support the implementation of C4’s large-scale restoration program in Luena, Angola, providing operational and data support to nursery, planting, and labor teams across multiple implementation sites. This entry-level role is essential to ensuring accurate and reliable field data collection, operational information verification, and daily documentation organization — contributing to the establishment of robust operational systems during the program’s start-up phase. This role requires an organized, detail-oriented individual willing to work in remote and challenging rural environments. The ideal candidate should demonstrate eagerness to learn, adaptability, and strong communication skills to effectively support field teams and operational management. **ABOUT YOU** You are proactive, organized, and possess strong teamwork abilities, with interest in areas such as environmental management, agriculture, forestry, or data management. You feel comfortable working in rural settings, rigorously collecting and recording data, and collaborating with field teams, local communities, and partners. You seek an opportunity to develop operational and technical competencies within a program start-up environment, contributing to the success of a large-scale restoration project. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Field Data Collection and Verification * Support daily data collection activities at nursery and planting sites. * Assist field teams in capturing basic operational data, such as planting numbers, seedling deliveries, attendance, daily production, and site progress. * Compile simple field checklists, tally sheets, and digitized forms based on daily operations. * Conduct basic spot checks to confirm recorded figures match field activities. * Collect and organize photographs, GPS points, and simple field documentation as needed. * Ensure all collected data is complete, legible, and clearly identified prior to submission. * Data Entry, Cleaning, and Organization * Accurately and timely enter field data into spreadsheets, templates, or digital tools. * Maintain structured folders for field documents, photographs, logs, and daily summaries. * Support organization of seedling stock records, planting records, and labor mobilization data. * Perform basic data checks to identify missing entries, duplicates, or inconsistencies. * Support updating dashboards, monitoring tools, or basic weekly summaries under supervision. * Flag any irregularities or unclear data to the Operational Data Manager. * Operational Reporting and Team Support * Prepare simple daily or weekly summaries based on planting progress, nursery production, and labor mobilization. * Support field operations teams in distributing and collecting data forms, tally sheets, and monitoring templates. * Assist in preparing operational documentation, archiving, and data organization. * Participate in field visits to understand operations and verify recorded figures when necessary. Maintain respectful working relationships with field staff, community teams, and partner groups during data collection. * Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and responsible handling of all project information. **REQUIREMENTS** * Certificate, diploma, or academic qualification in Environmental Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Data Management, Geography, or a related field. * 0–2 years of experience in field data collection, data entry, or operational support (internship experience accepted). * Basic computer literacy and familiarity with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets). * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. * Willingness to spend time in the field collecting and verifying data. * Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. * Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with field staff. * Reliable, responsible, and able to follow instructions. * Ability to work long days in remote rural environments with limited infrastructure and high labor mobilization demands. * Ability to speak local languages **APPLICATION PROCESS** To apply for this position, please send your CV to **c4****angola.recruitment@c4es.co.za** Applications will remain open until a suitable candidate is identified. C4 reserves the right not to fill the position or to withdraw the vacancy at any time. If you do not receive any communication from us within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
