JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with stakeholders from your own unit and across other business and technical areas to define and develop analytical, Machine Learning, and AI projects—including generative AI—ensuring timely delivery and expectation alignment, overseeing committed deliverables, and proactively reporting progress, blockers, and potential risks.
Work closely with various Santalucía Group departments and the Agency Network to deeply understand business problems, applying active listening and considering each unit’s specific context when designing data- and AI-based solutions.
Analyze existing information and propose novel approaches to enrich it—including structured and unstructured data—to solve business challenges through traditional and generative analytical and AI solutions.
Design, evaluate, and evolve AI-based solutions for real-world use cases, ensuring alignment with business objectives and Group technical standards.
Define when to apply generative AI models versus traditional machine learning models, rule-based systems, or other analytical approaches—using sound technical and business judgment.
Design and maintain AI solutions integrated with corporate data, and define business-relevant metrics—as well as metrics for the Data Science team.
Promote responsible and controlled use of data and AI across the company, in accordance with internal security, privacy, compliance policies, and established quality and legal standards.
Provide data processing and preparation capabilities when needed—supporting analytical and AI solutions—and ensure the quality of used information.
Interpret outputs from analytical models, Machine Learning models, and generative AI systems; identify improvement opportunities; propose alternative strategies; and clearly communicate processes and conclusions to both technical and business audiences.
Define and monitor KPIs for analytical models and AI solutions—including performance, quality, usage, cost, latency, potential drifts, and governance metrics.
Lead Data Science and AI projects independently or collaboratively with other team members and external consulting teams—acting as the technical reference.
Maintain and enhance existing analytical and AI solutions—ensuring their proper evolution and operational performance in production environments.
Document developed solutions, justifying adopted technical decisions and defining associated operational processes.
Support identification, evaluation, and negotiation with vendors of analytical and traditional/generative AI solutions—participating in defining required technical and control specifications for successful project execution.

Experience in the insurance sector and prior work at other insurance companies will be considered favorably.
Teamwork experience.
Experience coordinating and leading analytical and AI projects.
Advanced mathematical and statistical knowledge, plus expertise in raw data preparation techniques (structured and unstructured—including text) and development of diverse Machine Learning models—e.g., time series, regression models—and support for generative AI solutions.
Experience evaluating, monitoring, and improving generative AI models and solutions—including quality, usage, and output control metrics.
A doctoral degree will be viewed favorably.
**Required Knowledge:**
Proficiency in Python and PySpark for developing analytical and AI solutions.
Practical knowledge of applying generative AI models (LLMs) to business use cases.
Familiarity with metrics and techniques for evaluating, monitoring, and ensuring quality in AI solutions.
Understanding of data quality principles, security, and compliance requirements applicable to advanced analytics and AI projects.
