We are seeking a Refractory Engineer for ArcelorMittal's plant in Sestao. This person will be responsible for monitoring and tracking the condition of refractories, as well as carrying out repairs on Electric Arc Furnaces and Ladles, with the objective of improving the performance of various materials used in the steelmaking process. Key responsibilities include: * Organize and supervise interventions on Electric Arc Furnaces and Ladles to ensure effective solutions in terms of quality, timeline, and cost. * Analyze and respond to critical situations involving Electric Arc Furnaces and Ladles. * Negotiate, agree upon, and analyze with suppliers proposals for improvement and process-related issues. * Supervise and monitor contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with technical specifications regarding quality, timing, and execution. * Analyze incidents and failures, define corrective actions, and implement measures to prevent recurrence. * Coordinate, implement, and analyze trials of new materials and installations, collaborating with other departments as necessary. * Audit operational practices to verify compliance and modify them if required. * Coordinate and supervise less common refractory works, including burners, ladle cars, emergency ladles, etc. * Coordinate activities with Production and Maintenance departments to ensure work is executed in accordance with quality, timeline, and cost requirements. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the Steelmaking Plant’s Safety and Health procedures. * Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; preferably with a metallurgical focus and/or at least 5 years of verifiable industrial work experience. * Prior experience in refractory installations; experience with blast furnaces, converters, and ladles is desirable. * Knowledge of refractories, their types, and applications. * Understanding of installation methods for these materials. * Basic knowledge of metallurgy. * Leadership ability and orientation toward continuous improvement. * Fluent command of English (B2–C1 level). * Proficiency in Office tools, especially Excel. * SAP knowledge is an advantage. **At ArcelorMittal, we believe in Zero.** We believe in the goal of zero accidents, and all employees of the company work toward achieving it. *ArcelorMittal is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
