San Fernando de Henares (hybrid) At Indra Group, we protect what matters most. Are you passionate about autonomous navigation, computer vision, and sensor fusion in environments where GNSS is not always available? We are seeking a Navigation \& Visual Perception Engineer to develop, integrate, and validate advanced navigation, state estimation, SLAM, and perception algorithms for next-generation UAS platforms and autonomous systems. You will work on mission-critical solutions enabling our systems to localize, orient, perceive their surroundings, and navigate robustly in real time—even in complex, degraded, or GNSS-denied scenarios. What will you do daily? Design advanced navigation and state estimation algorithms Develop sensor fusion algorithms to estimate position, velocity, attitude, and full system pose. Implement robust navigation solutions for dynamic, uncertain, or GNSS-degraded environments. Work with estimation techniques such as Kalman Filter, EKF, UKF, and loosely/tightly coupled fusion architectures. ️ Drive visual navigation systems Develop Visual Odometry, Visual-Inertial Odometry, and Visual SLAM algorithms. Implement real-time localization and mapping capabilities. Design vision-based perception solutions for landmark detection, tracking, recognition, and object classification. Contribute to GNC architectures where visual navigation is a key component. Integrate multiple sensors in real time Fuse data from GNSS, INS/IMU, magnetometers, altimeters, cameras, LiDAR, and RADAR. **You will design multimodal pipelines such as:** GNSS/INS \+ magnetometer. INS \+ altimeter. Visual-Inertial Fusion / VIO. LiDAR-Inertial SLAM. **You will model sensor errors:** IMU bias and noise, hard/soft iron distortions in magnetometers, barometric drift, or AGL estimation using altimeters. ️ Develop SLAM and autonomous perception solutions Implement Visual SLAM, LiDAR SLAM, and Graph-based SLAM algorithms. Work with optimization back-ends based on factor graphs. Optimize solutions for relative localization, real-time mapping, and autonomous navigation. Apply computer vision techniques such as ORB, SIFT, SURF, feature tracking, and real-time object detection. ️ Deploy algorithms onto embedded platforms Integrate software into embedded systems with real-time constraints. Optimize latency, robustness, stability, and computational efficiency. Work with NVIDIA Jetson platforms—especially Orin—deploying vision and AI models at the edge. Optimize inference using CUDA, TensorRT, and efficient CPU/GPU/memory management. Validate solutions in real-world environments Validate algorithms via simulation, SIL/HIL, lab testing, and field or flight trials. Analyze system accuracy, availability, integrity, and robustness. Tune models and algorithms to ensure performance in demanding operational scenarios. ✅ What are we looking for? **Solid experience or knowledge in:** Autonomous navigation and vehicle dynamics. State estimation, probability, and applied statistics. Multi-sensor and multi-rate sensor fusion. Integration of GNSS/INS, magnetometers, altimeters, cameras, LiDAR, or RADAR systems. SLAM, Visual Odometry, VIO, and visual navigation. Computer Vision, robotics, and autonomous perception. Embedded systems and real-time processing. **Key algorithms and technologies:** Kalman Filter, EKF, UKF. Visual SLAM / Visual-Inertial SLAM. LiDAR SLAM. ORB-SLAM or similar frameworks. Factor graphs, GTSAM, Ceres. **Feature detection and tracking:** ORB, SIFT, SURF. Real-time object detection. **YOLO for vision models:** training, validation, deployment, and optimization. ️ Tools and programming C\+\+ and Python. MATLAB / Simulink. SIL/HIL simulation and validation environments. NVIDIA Jetson / Orin platforms. CUDA and TensorRT. Optimization, parallel computing, and real-time systems. Why join us?
