We are seeking a Project Director to comprehensively manage an EPC project within our WATER business and further advance a sustainable, excellence-driven business model. Job Description The Project Director is responsible for end-to-end project management—from design and preparation through construction, commissioning, and closure. They lead project planning, execution, and control, ensuring achievement of schedule, cost, quality, safety, and client satisfaction objectives in accordance with ACCIONA’s standards and methodologies. This is a key position within the organization, requiring a profile with solid technical and managerial experience, proven leadership in complex environments, and strategic vision to drive project success. International relocation or expatriation availability will be valued, as well as interest in building a professional career within a company that positions the Project Director as a strategic pillar of its business model. They will oversee comprehensive management of the assigned project—including planning, monitoring, and control of design, construction, and commissioning phases—ensuring efficient technical, economic, and administrative oversight. They will ensure correct application of quality, safety, environmental, and people management standards; fulfillment of contractual commitments; and project profitability aligned with corporate objectives and client satisfaction. The main responsibilities of this position are: 1\. Project Direction and Management* Ensure proper project execution—from preliminary design and development through construction and commissioning—within contractual timelines and conditions. * Lead, plan, and coordinate all project activities (engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning). * Ensure budget compliance, cost control, and cash flow management, guaranteeing timely and proper collections. * Coordinate technical integration across various project disciplines and validate design constructability. * Develop risk mitigation strategies, incident resolution approaches, and resource optimization measures. 2\. Team Organization and Leadership* Define and deploy the project organization, assigning roles, resources, and priorities in coordination with business units. * Lead, motivate, and develop internal and external teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and operational excellence. * Implement efficient communication, reporting, and monitoring processes. * Contribute to team professional development and performance evaluation systems. 3\. Contractual and Economic Management* Serve as the primary liaison with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. * Ensure proactive contract management—identifying risks and opportunities—and lead negotiations and claims with all parties. * Approve procurement awards for materials and services in accordance with corporate procedures. * Review and approve work certifications, ensuring contractual compliance. * Prepare technical and economic progress reports per the corporate reporting system. 4\. Safety, Quality, and Environment* Promote a “zero accidents” culture and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety and environmental regulations. * Supervise implementation of quality, safety, and sustainability systems on site. * Ensure corporate procedures and standards are implemented and kept up to date. 5\. Representation and Strategic Contribution* Represent ACCIONA before clients, partners, and authorities within the project scope. * Provide information and analysis to support the company’s strategic decision-making process. * Participate in resource planning, budgeting, and definition of new projects in the development phase. * Drive adoption of Project Management methodology across the organization. Candidate Requirements Academic Qualifications* Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Prior Experience* 10–15 years’ professional experience managing international EPC infrastructure projects (water, energy, transport, or hydraulic works); experience in the water sector is highly desirable. * Proven experience in end-to-end project management—including design, engineering, cost control, procurement, execution, technical and contractual monitoring. Other Requirements and Competencies* High technical capability and holistic vision to integrate diverse technologies and disciplines. * Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. * Decision-making ability, initiative, sense of urgency, and results orientation. * Ability to work in multicultural environments and with multiple stakeholders. * Availability for expatriation or international assignment. * Commitment to developing a professional career within ACCIONA, in an environment that fosters project leadership and progression into roles of increasing responsibility.
