Our values shape how we advise and define the people we want to join us on this journey. The Responsible Business department requires a Sustainability Manager for its Madrid office, with specific experience in energy, carbon footprint calculation, and decarbonization plans within the real estate sector. The role will play a key technical leadership and strategic advisory function for clients—particularly across real estate portfolios, new-build projects, and existing buildings—supporting clients through their transition toward Net Zero Carbon models, ESG frameworks, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for: * Developing and leading short-, medium-, and long-term decarbonization plans, including retrofit strategies, electrification, and CAPEX and OPEX optimization. * Calculating organizational and asset-level carbon footprints (Scopes 1, 2, and 3) in accordance with ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol, including defining reduction plans and tracking progress against targets. * Applying CRREM to assess climate transition risks, align with decarbonization pathways, and evaluate stranded asset risk. * Providing technical advisory on improving energy efficiency. * Integrating and analyzing renewable energy solutions for buildings and real estate portfolios (e.g., photovoltaics, aerothermal, geothermal, self-consumption, PPAs, and procurement of renewable electricity). * Leading and participating as the technical lead in ESG Due Diligence (ESGDD), with focus on energy, emissions, and improvement opportunities. * Providing technical advisory on green finance and regulatory compliance. You will need: * A technical education, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field, with solid knowledge of building installations and energy systems. As an energy and decarbonization expert, you bring demonstrable experience in: * Carbon footprint calculation per ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol. * Energy analysis and eco-efficiency strategies for real estate assets. * Energy simulation tools (DesignBuilder, HULC, IES). * Integration of renewable energy into the built environment. * Development of decarbonization plans, investment optimization, and cost-benefit analysis. * Knowledge of the energy sector, providing technical support for energy audits and participation in development and evaluation of energy generation projects (especially those applicable to real estate or industrial sectors). * Experience with or familiarity with CRREM and the EU Taxonomy. * Knowledge of sustainability certifications (LEED, BREEAM). * Experience with ESG standards and indices (GRI, EPRA, PRI, CDP, SBTi). * Understanding of green finance, including energy savings certificates. We seek an organized, methodical, highly proactive individual with leadership capability and experience working under tight deadlines and in direct client-facing roles. You must speak Spanish and possess an advanced level of English, both written and spoken. European travel is required. If you have experience in energy, decarbonization, and energy transition applied to the real estate sector—and wish to grow professionally—we encourage you to seize the opportunities Mace can offer.
