Would you like to work as a Java Backend Developer on a microservices-based project, cloud architectures, and ticketing solutions for public transportation environments? Novanotio is looking to hire a Backend Developer with experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, and event-driven architectures to contribute to building and evolving distributed, scalable, and robust solutions. This position can be performed fully remotely (100% telework), with occasional visits to our office in San Fernando de Henares, Madrid. WHAT DO WE OFFER? Work Modality: 100% telework, with possible occasional office visits. Location: Madrid / San Fernando de Henares. Permanent contract. Salary: Approx. €35,500 gross/year. Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00–18:00; Friday, 8:00–15:00. Ongoing training tailored to your professional interests, with a focus on applied artificial intelligence in our daily operations. Flexible compensation. WHAT WILL YOU DO? You will participate in the design, development, maintenance, and integration of backend services in Java 17 or higher and Spring Boot, working on modern microservices architectures. You will develop REST APIs and system integrations, collaborating on the technical evolution of a distributed solution oriented toward cloud environments. You will design solutions leveraging PostgreSQL databases, applying data modeling knowledge, SQL, and sound development practices. You will work with event-driven architectures, asynchronous integration, and caching solutions such as Redis to improve performance and response times. You will build unit tests using JUnit and contribute to maintaining clean, robust, and maintainable code. You will collaborate with agile teams in a technically oriented environment focused on quality, scalability, and continuous improvement. WHAT DO WE REQUIRE? At least 3 years of backend development experience with Java. Experience with Java 17 or higher. Experience developing microservices with Spring Boot. Experience designing and developing REST APIs. Solid understanding of microservices architectures. Experience with PostgreSQL, data modeling, and SQL. Experience with unit testing using JUnit. Experience with event-based systems. Experience with Redis. Knowledge of sound development practices and maintainable code. Ability to work within agile teams. English level B2 or ability to communicate in English in technical environments. Experience in asynchronous integration and messaging, design patterns, distributed systems, high-availability environments, observability, monitoring, CI/CD, containers, and cloud environments will be considered a plus.
