Java Technical Lead + AI (Hybrid Madrid)

At **knowmad mood**, we continue driving high-impact technology projects and are looking to hire a **Java Technical Lead (with experience working with SDD and Claude)** to serve as the technical lead on an Artificial Intelligence project for a major banking institution, supported by multidisciplinary profiles (architects, developers, etc.) and with direct client interaction. We seek a senior profile with a solid technical foundation in software development and proven experience making **architectural design decisions**, having defined end-to-end projects, capable of leading teams and evolving complex technical solutions. This is a hybrid position (1 or 2 days per week onsite), ***located in the Salamanca District***, Madrid. **What will you do?** * Design and deliver end\-to\-end fraud prevention capabilities, actively participating in coding, testing, and production deployment. * Initially lead technical direction and architectural decisions for the squad, translating business and fraud operations requirements into maintainable and scalable solutions. * Evolve the Drools-based rules and decision engine and its integrations with frontend applications, internal systems, core banking platforms, and external providers. * Design microservices, APIs, and event-driven flows using Java, Spring Boot, hexagonal architecture, modularity, resilience, idempotency, and traceability. * Balance new features, scalability, and delivery speed with refactoring, technical debt reduction, and progressive re-architecting. * Raise engineering standards in testing, security, observability, performance, code review, and maintainability. * Apply Spec\-Driven Development and use Claude Code or equivalent tools judiciously, with critical review and responsibility for outcomes. * Unblock the team, coordinate dependencies, and collaborate with involved areas.
