The company delivers best-in-class launch services to commercial satellite operators, institutions, space agencies, and national and international governmental entities. **Mission** Supply Chain Engineer at PLD Space, within the Subcontracting and Product Quality area. The scope of work begins with engineering support for component design or project requirement definition and concludes with proper validation and warehouse receipt of those parts (including supplier negotiation, procurement, manufacturing, project tracking, Product Quality, and Quality Control). **Responsibilities** * Collaborate with Engineering and Processes departments to evolve designs and enhance quality and manufacturability, working with the Quality department on component verification and validation * Negotiate with suppliers and manage the supplier portfolio * Conduct technical iterations with manufacturers of components designed by PLD Space (drawing review, manufacturing tolerances, etc.) * Select manufacturers for metallic components (small- and medium-sized machined parts, laser-cut parts, welded structures…) and carbon fiber components (monolithic structures, filament winding, hand lay-up, RTM…), based on quality, lead time, and price. Negotiate and manage risks. * Effectively communicate and escalate any delivery schedule or production program risks internally. * Procure and plan orders, tracking them through to receipt * Work on data quality within our management system and QA framework from a continuous improvement perspective. Performance metrics. **Required Qualifications** * Higher education degree (Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Manufacturing Engineering; Technical Engineering / Industrial Engineering or equivalent) * Fluent spoken and written communication skills in English and Spanish * Strong negotiation, communication, and teamwork abilities * Knowledge of component manufacturing and production technologies: machining, laser cutting, carbon fiber component manufacturing, metrology, associated documentation, etc. * Full proficiency in MS Office tools.
