**Description:** ---------------- We at **Metalimpex Ibérica** are seeking an Environmental Specialist for our workplace located at a major automotive-sector company in Vigo. **As part of the METALIMPEX IBERICA team, your challenges will be:** * Customer service. * Continuous improvement in waste management; you will succeed in this role if you are curious, creative, and proactive in constantly seeking better ways to do things. * Preparation of technical waste reports and KPIs. * Management of waste contractors, including site visits to verify compliance with environmental regulations. * Monitoring compliance with legal requirements related to waste at the Vigo facility. * Environmental legal advisory and analysis. * Economic data and cost analysis: B2B invoicing. * Preparing performance balance sheets and ensuring achievement of economic performance and waste valorization targets. * Ensuring smooth operation of the facility while adhering to occupational health and safety, environmental, and applicable legal requirements. * Raising environmental awareness across the organization. * Representing the company before official bodies and at events to enhance visibility in the Galicia region. * Business prospecting within the region. **What do we offer?** * Indefinite-term contract. * Split or full-time schedule from 8:00 to 18:00. * Company laptop and mobile phone. * Immediate start. * Workplace location: Vigo. * Salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience. ***You will have the opportunity to learn and grow within an international company that leads in recycling and sustainability within the automotive sector.*** ***We will support you in everything you need from day one.*** **Requirements:** --------------- **What will make you successful in this position?** * Education in environmental science or a related field, preferably university-level. * Minimum 1\-2 years of experience performing similar duties in a role with these characteristics. * Knowledge of the waste management and automotive sectors. * Prior experience in Tier 1/Automotive industry is highly valued. * Strong communication skills, ability to engage in daily direct dialogue and negotiation with customers and suppliers. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office. * High analytical capability; you must be solution-oriented, curious, enthusiastic about thinking “outside the box”, and capable of proposing innovative ideas to improve processes or resolve everyday challenges. * You will fit well into the team if you are also proactive and eager to learn.
