With the integration of Deimos and strategic participation in Hispasat and Hisdesat, we are scaling Europe’s space autonomy and contributing to flagship programs like IRIS², Galileo, EGNOS, and Copernicus. **What will you do?** --------------------- * Lead the technical management of a team of **5–10 Flight Software engineers**. * Participate in the entire lifecycle of embedded onboard system development, focusing on **Command and Data Handling (C\&DH)** software. * Design, develop, and validate **real‑time and safety‑critical software** for space vehicles. * Work with multiple target hardware platforms and real‑time operating systems (RTEMS, VxWorks, FreeRTOS, etc.). * Interact with internal and external technical teams defining and integrating interacting subsystems. * Ensure compliance with applicable development standards (e.g., **ECSS**, **DO‑178**). * Prepare and supervise technical documentation across all project phases. * Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, international environment across Spain, Portugal, the UK, and Romania. * Support validation activities, system integration, and team coordination across multiple projects. **What are we looking for?** ---------------------------- ✅ Minimum **10 years of experience** in engineering roles related to real‑time and safety‑critical software for space or aeronautics. ✅ Strong experience in the **design and development of real\-time embedded systems**. ✅ Proficiency in **C and C\+\+**, plus familiarity with Python or Ada. ✅ Solid knowledge of **real‑time multithreaded systems**, RTOS platforms, and embedded architectures (LEON, ARM, PowerPC). ✅ Experience leading **software teams** and managing software development phases. ✅ Knowledge and application of **software development standards** (ECSS, DO‑178\). ✅ Experience with version control systems (**GIT, SVN**). ✅ Ability to integrate into and collaborate with **multidisciplinary international teams**. ✅ High level of **spoken and written English**. ✅ Availability for hybrid work in Madrid.
