đ **Lunar Observation â Saturday, December 27 â Poblenou Beach (Barcelona)** *********Leave your contact phone number on Meetup; only organizers can see it. We will contact you to provide all the specific details.****** Next **Friday, December 27**, with the **Moon illuminated at 45%** and located **234,800 km away**, we invite you to a unique evening by the sea. It will be a night to enjoy the sky, science, and companionship at **Poblenou Beach**, featuring a **visual observation session** of our natural satellite. đ **What Weâll Do** Beneath the Moonâs silvery light, **VĂctor**, an amateur astronomer and **geologist**, will reveal lesser-known secrets of the lunar surface: how its craters formed, what its maria and mountains tell us, and how its geological history has unfolded over billions of years. We will identify the **major lunar features**, learning to recognize them visuallyânaming and contextualizing each one. Thanks to the presence of the **terminator** (the line separating lunar day and night), weâll enjoy **spectacular contrasts**, ideal for appreciating topographic relief, mountain ranges, and shadows in full depth. đ **Equipment Weâll Use** ⢠**Visual Observation:** Weâll use a **203 mm aperture, 1000 mm focal length Newtonian telescope equipped with specialized lunar filters**, mounted on a **manual Dobsonian mount**, ideal for smooth, stable sky viewing. Weâll also have a **selection of Explore Scientific eyepieces**: **30 mm, 14 mm, 9 mm, and 5 mm**, all **2-inch format with 100° apparent field of view**, enabling everything from wide-field views of the full lunar disk to stunning close-ups of craters, mountains, and valleys. Optical quality and wide field of view guarantee an **immersive, sharp visual experience**, perfect for those who have never observed the Moon through a large-aperture telescope. đ **Stabilized 12Ă24 Binoculars** Compact and precise, they deliver stable, sharp sky views without requiring a tripod. With **12Ă magnification** and **optical image stabilization**, they allow comfortable viewing of the **Moon, star clusters, and bright planets**, both during astronomical and daytime observations. Lightweight, portable, and ideal for complementing any stargazing session. đŹ **Organization and Communication** All coordination will take place via our **Discord server âPractical Astronomyâ** (we do not use WhatsApp). There, weâll create a dedicated channel for this event, where weâll post the **exact time, meeting point, weather forecast, and updates**. On **Discord**, youâll also find **free resources, astronomy courses for beginners and advanced observers, downloadable guides, and a space for enthusiasts to exchange ideas**. đ **Free Registration** Attendees may later join our Discord group **âUniversalesâ**, a space where we continue learning, sharing observations, and planning new outings. âď¸ **Important:** This activity is subject to weather conditions. Weâll confirm its feasibility exclusively through the Discord channel created for this event. ***Have questions or doubts?*** Contact me via WhatsApp at 691 323 066 All photographic images are original
