Your role: As a Tactical Buyer at VDL Defentec, you play a critical role in the development and production of systems and products for security and defense. The majority of procurement volume relates to production. You are responsible for benchmarking, market analysis, and our network of suppliers. We consider it important that Procurement is involved as early as possible, so you will have frequent contact with product development and engineering. At this stage of our organization’s growth, many interesting NPR\-procurement projects also arise. The procurement team consists of a Strategic Buyer, another Tactical Buyer, and a Procurement Administration Officer. Together, you tackle all procurement challenges. Operational procurement lies within the Supply Chain Management department. *Your main responsibilities:* * Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. This includes establishing contacts, setting up procurement contracts, and conducting periodic reviews. * Negotiating and establishing prices, contract terms, delivery agreements, and annual objectives. * Initiating, coordinating, and steering cost reduction activities. * Monitoring and analyzing supplier\-KPIs and taking corrective actions if necessary. * Independently setting up and executing tender processes (including supplier selection and \-nomination), managing the contract database, and monitoring the tender calendar. * Managing, evaluating, and negotiating technical product changes (engineering changes), including impact analysis, documentation, and commercial alignment with suppliers. Your strengths * You hold a successfully completed HBO degree in a commercial or technical field. * You have several years of work experience in a high-end, technical production environment. * You possess knowledge of supply chain management and demonstrable experience in procuring complex, technical components, products, and semi-finished goods. * Holding NEVI 1 and NEVI 2 certificates is a plus. * You have strong negotiation skills; you know how to achieve sharp, targeted goals and optimally manage supplier relationships. * You see the big picture and constantly seek further improvements. * You possess excellent numerical and analytical insight.
