locations Neves\-Corvo time type Full time posted on Posted Today time left to apply End Date: August 31, 2026 (30\+ days left to apply) job requisition id JOB\_015453**Mission:** The Instrument Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing failures in instrumentation and automation systems, as well as collaborating in project development and executing the implementation and programming of instrumentation, thereby contributing to equipment availability and optimization of processes and equipment. **Key Responsibilities:** * Perform periodic maintenance and repair failures in instrumentation, automation, and electrical systems across all mine equipment and machinery, replacing components. * Program and optimize industrial control programs in programmable logic controllers (PLCs). * Repair and program mine data networks, radio communication networks, audio and video systems. * Prepare equipment and machinery failure reports. * Execute all phases of instrument installation in mine production units (assembly and commissioning). * Optimize commands for fixed and remote equipment. * Monitor and repair, if necessary, the operation of the high-voltage substation control system. * Perform calibrations and tests on specific equipment, such as: static and dynamic weighing scales, temperature, pressure, and flow transmitters; pneumatic automatic valves; vibration detection systems; diagnose and repair failures in Detroit Diesel engine controllers (EMCs) installed on mobile equipment. * Interpret electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to implement improvements aimed at optimizing and increasing equipment productivity. * Operate, when required, high-voltage switchgear in substations adjacent to the extraction shaft and in main mine ventilation fan substations. * Ensure compliance with the "General Safety, Health, Environment, and Communities Standards" within Department-related areas and facilities, in accordance with applicable legislation, ensuring appropriate working conditions and minimizing Somincor’s operational impacts on both the environment and associated communities. * Complete work sheets, reports, and record tables. **Requirements:** * Secondary education (12th grade). * Vocational technical training in Mechatronics (electricity, instrumentation, and automation). * Availability to work rotating shifts and continuous operations. * Valid driver's license. \- Important!
