




Would you like to research real-world solutions for a more sustainable industry? We are seeking a **pre-doctoral researcher** to join the University Chair of Enterprise “*Digitalization and Sustainability*”, as part of an industrial PhD jointly developed by **Takasago** and **UCAM**. You will work in a hybrid company–university environment, directly applying research to an actual industrial plant and contributing to the improvement of its environmental performance. **What will the project involve?** You will join the project “*Waste Management Improvement Strategy and Sustainability Assessment in an Industrial Plant*”, focusing on: \- Analysis of production processes and waste generation points. \- Characterization of industrial waste and wastewater. \- Optimization of waste management and proposals for improvement. \- Development of circular economy–based strategies. \- Calculation of water footprint, carbon footprint, and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). \- Participation in pilot projects for effluent reuse and treatment enhancement. \- Preparation of technical reports and scientific articles (PhD thesis). **What will your responsibilities be?** \- Analyze and document industrial processes. \- Identify and characterize waste and liquid streams. \- Evaluate current environmental management practices and propose improvements. \- Collaborate on environmental innovation projects. \- Prepare technical and scientific documentation. \- Participate in seminars, training sessions, and progress meetings. **What are we looking for?** \- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, or related fields. \- Eligibility to enroll in a PhD program. \- Laboratory experience, water/waste analysis, or environmental management experience will be valued. \- Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency (B2–C1). *Key competencies:* \- Analytical ability and attention to detail. \- Rigorous organization and data management. \- Strong written communication skills. \- Interest in applied research. \- Teamwork and proactive attitude. \- Responsibility and adherence to safety regulations. **What do we offer?** \- Development of an industrial PhD in a real-world setting. \- Participation in projects with tangible environmental impact. \- Advanced training in sustainability and environmental management. \- Academic and corporate mentoring. \- Integration into the GAIA Research Group. \- Two-year full-time employment stability.
