




Job Summary: We are seeking a Cloud On-Prem Engineer to manage and optimize critical infrastructures in hybrid environments for an international pharmaceutical client. Key Highlights: 1. Advanced administration of Windows and Linux systems, and VMware environments Cloud \& On\-Prem Engineer WayOps is looking for a Cloud On\-Prem Engineer who wishes to continue growing professionally, taking responsibility for managing and optimizing critical infrastructures in hybrid environments. We seek an expert with a strong foundation in AWS, virtualization, and system administration, oriented toward operational excellence, excellent technical communication skills, and willingness to travel. PROJECT TEAM You will join a strategic initiative for one of our key international clients in the pharmaceutical sector. The project focuses on managing and evolving a high-impact technology ecosystem where on-premises infrastructures (VMware) converge with advanced cloud environments on AWS. You will integrate into a high-performing team, collaborating closely with backend, frontend, Data, and DevOps professionals. Your role will be critical in ensuring the availability, security, and scalability of mission-critical services. At WayOps, we promote autonomy, continuous learning, and the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to transform traditional system management into modern infrastructure engineering. The nature of this initiative may require occasional travel to other locations within the national territory. FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES On a day-to-day basis, you will serve as the infrastructure and cloud services reference, actively participating in tasks such as: * End-to-end AWS environment management: Administration of Landing Zones, Control Tower, and configuration of security policies in enterprise multi-account environments. * Infrastructure design and deployment: Implementation of scalable solutions using core services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, Route 53, CloudFront). * Automation with IaC: Creation and maintenance of reusable modules in Terraform and CloudFormation for efficient resource provisioning. * Business Continuity: Design and execution of Backup, replication, and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies in enterprise environments. * Hybrid system administration: Advanced management of Windows servers (Active Directory, PowerShell) and Linux systems (Bash, security, networking), as well as on-premises virtualization environments with VMware. * Optimization and Governance: Application of security best practices, regulatory compliance, and cost-optimization strategies (FinOps). * Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Resolution of critical incidents in high-availability environments using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, or third-party solutions. REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE To be considered, candidates must have a solid track record (over 3 years) in IT infrastructure and critical systems administration. Essential skills and knowledge include: * Mobility and Logistics: Valid EU driving license (Class B), current points on license, personal vehicle, and willingness to travel if required by the project. * Academic Qualification: Higher Technical Degree in Computer Systems Administration (ASIR) or equivalent technical qualification. * AWS Proficiency: Proven experience administering production cloud resources, networking, and storage. * Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Solid hands-on experience with Terraform. * System Administration: Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016/2022\) and Linux distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc.). * Virtualization and Storage: Experience managing VMware environments and enterprise storage architectures. * Soft Skills: Excellent communication ability, proactivity, and a problem-solving orientation for complex challenges. **Additionally, the following will be considered advantageous:** * Good level of English (spoken and written) for international environments. * Prior experience in the pharmaceutical sector and GxP methodologies. * Knowledge of other public clouds (Azure or Google Cloud). * Official AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or SysOps) or VMware certifications. * Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum). CONTRACTING LOCATION Collaboration will preferably be conducted under self-employed terms, with annual contracts and tacit renewal, as part of a long-term project designed to provide stability and continuity. For candidates demonstrating exceptional technical or cultural fit, indefinite employment contracts may also be considered. This position is full-time (40 hours/week). The project requires close collaboration with the team, necessitating a hybrid work model (attending the client’s offices in Madrid/Sanchinarro three days per week) and availability for travel to facilitate communication and project momentum.
