Description
We are seeking an experienced chef for preparing traditional Syrian and Palestinian dishes. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting Levantine culinary specialties such as maqluba, musakhan, kibbeh, shawarma, falafel, hummus, fattah, and other menu items. The chef will also prepare typical sauces, marinades, doughs, mezze, and desserts, as well as select, store, and handle raw materials, spices, and ingredients characteristic of this cuisine—such as sumac, zaatar, and tahini. Additionally, the chef must organize and maintain their workstation in compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations.
Proven experience in Syrian, Palestinian, or Levantine Arab cuisine is required, along with mastery of culinary techniques and traditional recipes, and the ability to independently prepare all menu items. Familiarity with and proficiency in handling spices and ingredients specific to this cuisine are essential.
This is a permanent full-time position with a 40-hour weekly schedule on rotating shifts, offering salary and conditions according to the Hospitality Collective Agreement. Immediate start is required, and the position is located in Gijón, Asturias.
